Which store should I buy this phone from?

Ive been patiently waiting for months and my uprgrade date is finally today. I am set on getting the thunderbolt. Already have some cases and the 2X 1700 MaH battery pack in my amazon cart. There's just one problem. In don't know where to get the phone lol

I'm leaning towards Verizon's because I can get money off since it's upgrade time.

I also had a question, let's say I buy from amazon, do i still get the money off because it's an upgrade or is that only when you buy from the Verizon site or store?

EDIT: also is there like an app that I can switch to 3G? I only want to be on 4G when I need it. I won't need 4G in school or at work. I work at mcdonalds lol

I am also on a family plan under my parents. Idk if that means anything

I just ordered the phone online using my New Every Two Discount. Its $50 cheaper than what they're offering in store. I got it for $150.00

I don't think your verizon discount works with Amazon purchases. You should contact Amazon and ask!

What is the new every 2 discount? And for sone weird reason, I'm not getting the upgrade discount for the TB When I check on verizon

I would say to go to a Verizon store to buy it. At Verizon they'll set the phone up for you if you've never used an android phone before, and they'll answer any questions.

The new every two program is just how often you can upgrade to a new phone. Up until recently you could upgrade to a new phone every year and 8 months, but now verizon is making customers wait a full two years before they get a credit towards a new phone.

When you're looking at the phone, the $249.99 is the price after resigning a contract for another 2 years. You should be able to get the TB for $249.99 as long as you've waited the year and 8 months ( it will be a full 2 years when you resign this time).

NE2 is only good on the primary account, your parents'. Since there is no rebate on the phone you can either get it in a store or call them up for overnight delivery. There is a way to manually switch between 3G and 4G and also an app although I'm not sure if it will work on unrooted phones. Either way it's not too difficult. You should be able to get the phone for $249 at most and perhaps a bit cheaper.

just an FYI to you, you can still upgrade every 20 months, they just got rid of Annual upgrades and New every 2 credits (the additional 50$ some people got)

Now to answer the topic. Best pricing is usually amazon, and if your at least somewhat adept at technology, best way to go since you can activate and such at home. Now if your looking for everything to be done for you (activation, contacts, set up, photos etc...) a corporate or premium retailer is gonna be your best bet.

I see. I saw a news article on daily roatation that stated that they were switching to a full t 2 years for an upgrade thank you for the information.

Yes there is an app in the market called LTE OnOff and with this u can choose between 3g or 4g or let it switch between both like stock...as far as where to buy not really sure i bought mine straight out first day...id go where the better deal is..

Just ordered it from amazon for $199 + free shipping and free activation. It should be here wenesday and I can't wait :)

I had another question. I live in delaware and I was checking out a 4g map and I see it's only in the major cities. Philadelphia is literally like 45 minutes away. Am I going to get 4g or 3G coverage?

More than likely you won't get a 4G signal that far way.

I live about 45 mins north of Chicago (a 4G city) and i have it about 75-80% of the time. So i would think you should do at least as well..

Damn, I'm kinda bummed out that I won't get 4G all the time. Well the TB is still an awesome phone. Atleast I'll get awesome battery life now
