Saw the EVO 3d all over the brackets board while they were doing the pit crew challenge that was just on SpeedTV it even said EVO 3D on the bottom of the brackets. That show is taped in the week and aired today. So your NASCAR tie in is there. Maybe you'll see it in victory lane after the race tonight.

Awesome, good eyes! Hopefully they'll showcase it in Victory Lane and then give us a release date while it's in the national spotlight!

I am gonna think way outside the box on this one and I mean WAAAAYYYYYYY outside the box and as I type this I can't help but LMAO. So here we go, currently sprint has a "The Oprah Show" thank you card that I saw on facebook which links you over to sprints website where you can sign a card with a photo of yourself. Anyway last May Oprah had an episode that sprint was sponsoring and she had an evo on tv. Of course this was a few weeks before the evo 4g was released. Now I am not sure if it was before or after the release date was announced. Anyway, it just hit me that Oprah's final show will be this wednesday the 25th of May and if sprint is having this thank you card for her then they are probably one of the major sponsors as well. Now personally I don't look at her show but what better stage would sprint have to advertise the evo 3D and also announce a release date? The ratings on this show is going to be through the roof. So who's with me on this, or am I just crazy? LOL

It's actually not that ridiculous! I've thought of this as well: like you said, they must be a big sponsor so why wouldn't they use one of her last shows to drop the bombshell release date? If they don't announce it at the NASCAR event today, I actually think they might drop the bomb on Oprah's show.
Using the theory that they will announce it on Oprah, it makes sense that they were so mum on leaks and stuff... who needs marketing when you have Oprah on your side? haha.

I guess thats a partial fail on my part. I been following this thread in detail and I totally missed your post.
My bad fellas, I thought 11 June was on a Wednesday. I guess we will all pick up our phones together on 11 June. The Sprint rep told me they don't do phone calls so I plan on showing up on the release date. Maybe they will have a "pre-order line" and a line for people who didn't pre-order the phone.
Another rep came over and told me I was first on the list. He told me to expect the middle of June for the release. I was like I'm leaving on 20 June and he said it would happen before then. My fingers are crossed for 11 June.

I can't see this advertised as an Oprah farewell promo. Last I read her target audience was middle aged women. Not sure that's the best place to drop this "bombshell". However we could be surprised...
Transformers 3D coming out July 4th weekend also.
I was able to see some of the filming of the movie while there were here in Florida. Movie making is kinda boring. A lot of standing around and retakes.
Anyone else wondering why we haven't heard any date?:
1. Maybe because of hardware change causing FCC delay?
a. NFC being added?
b. LTE being added?
c. Other h/w bug.
2. Software bug causing lockups? Maybe they don't want the same experience of the Evo 4G.

My Sprint store said middle of June. I told him I'm leaving on the 20th and he said it will be before then. He told me once Sprint starts to take pre-orders the phone is about to come out.
He did mention the debacle with BB and how they start taking pre-orders for the Thunderbolt last November but the phone didn't release until this year. This rep seemed to know what he was talking about and even the reps are excited about the EVO 3D.

No one was taking pre orders for the Thunderbolt in November, the phone was announced in January at CES. Based on that, I say your guy was full of it.

It wont be in July, that I can assure you of, Sprint has to compete with the sensation in June, my guess is Junes 3rd or June 8th

Every Sprint and Best Buy representative I have spoken to has said "we're not sure, but probably the 2nd week of July".
Now, I don't think they actually know. I just think they know the logic of releasing new phones 30+ days apart so people can't "trade up".
Not to "diss" the Nexus. I think it's a nice phone also and if the Evo3D wasn't a 1.2ghz Dual Core monster I'd probably be buying the Nexus.

There is no way in Hell it will be released in July, Bestbuy would not offer a pre order for 2 months in advance, thats ridiculous, it will be released in 2-3 weeks, June 3rd-June 11th, that will be the window. It would be wise for sprint to release it before the sensation, as I said before, which is why I think it will be 2 weeks for release

What I meant was I think it will release in 2-3 weeks, 3 weeks at the most, but I feel within in 2 weeks it will be released, and I simply think Sprint would want to be first, meaning lauch before the sensation, or around the same time, and other carriers will have other high ends phones to compete with. It only makes sense Sprint launches first to get a head start, as I said before
I doubt it would be 4th of July Weekend. Way too much going on that weekend. Also I am about 99% sure LTE is not being added to a WiMax phone. Even if (when) Sprint switches to LTE it would be a few years until the network was up and running. Maybe software bugs but what do you mean same experience as Evo 4g? I have had mine since launch day with zero issues.

I just called a sprint store in Gilroy CA, according to the the release is definitely in June, she said she did not know what week, it could be the 2nd or the 3rd week, according to her, but she said it is definitely going to be June...
I'm going to go with the first weekend in June. I'm guessing that because there is a Sprint Cup NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway (just outside Kansas City) on June 5th. Being that Sprint is the series title sponsor and is based in Kansas City, it's a "home race" for them and would be a great time to set it loose. Sprint always has a big presence at the Kansas race in the fall and this is the inaugural race for June. That gives Sprint roughly 5 hours of tv time to show it off, have it mentioned, etc. during the event. In victory circle at the end of the race they can set a big Evo3D prop on top of the winning car and it will be seen on recaps later on Sportscenter. Too many opportunities to show it off to not do it.
