Root Unrevoked3: Is your firmware too new?

in short you are stable, just need to flash the stock odexed rom that is rooted, its simple and you will be done.

So are you saying that this is something that is currently on my phone but just not yet installed? And in doing so I will be fully rooted?

Unrevoked3 is the easiest way , if you dont like it try looking into autoroot over on xda...?

The only reason I said I didn't like it was because I thought you said it was the easy way around and you don't really get to understand the process of rooting...maybe that was someone else who told me that. So am I still going to have to use the unrEVOked3 method in continuing this process?

that file isnt 100 percent useful but i would throw it on the laptop and take it off the card if ya want to get rid of it, i wouldnt nix it completely

30fps cap was done away with long ago, unless you have an old evo with original software...?

I just bought these two EVOs brand new on Saturday, so would you assume this 30fps thing is something I don't need to worry about? It is just something that someone told me I should do.

Can only underclock on stock kernal, if you want to overclock you need to flash a custom kernel.

We can save this for another day...my mind is going crazy just trying to learn all this stuff. I thought I knew enough to go ahead and do what I did but I guess not. I did some researching and reading for almost a month before I got the EVO to try and learn the process...there are just so many different ways and I think that is what confused me.

Well the sticky has I believe the best UN rooting method. Biggest Reason being because every one here is familiar with it and can help u along.... u need not install and apps on your phone however u do need to get the driver on your PC.. then u will be a click away from being rooted.. then after the first your wifes will be done start to finish 5 min. Cause you will already have the drivers

Cool...good to know, I think at this point I would just like to continue on with my phone to get it rooted but like as close to stock as possible.

O yea and there are plenty of stock looking Roms with the blotwere removed and some stock -ROOTED- Roms also....

This is really good to know...Hopefully I can gain enough knowledge on all these processes so I can one day help others out like you all have helped me.

Here is the link for the rom you need to flash

Supersonic_3.70.651.1-Odexed_signed_teshxx.zip

It is just the stock rom but its rooted and deodexed. Basically after you flash this your phone will be like it was right after you finish unrevoked (technically if unrevoked did everything it was supposed to)

Go to ra recovery and go to backup/restore make a back up of boot, system, data, and wimax. after that is complete wipe boot, system, cache & dalvik cache (i dont want you to have to wipe data but you may need to...if it doesnt boot after you just wipe boot and system then go back and wipe it all again including data), after you wipe those things select flash zip from sd card and choose zip and find the rom you just dl'ed from that link above and flash it and reboot, should be golden...

You are now fully rooted but stock (except the custom recovery, amon ra) if you made it here

I may have also been referring to rom manager and doing things manually in recovery instead of using that, not speaking about unrevoked...

3. FPS cap is not capped for you, no worries...

Call quality...eh its touch and go, some roms have like echos and things when they are in alpha stages or ported but i dont believe anything YOU did could have affected it unless your radios mismatched. However you didnt flash a rom that was in testing so it wasnt that, and you were still on stock everything right? so it wasnt radios. So im not real sure here for you. Are you sure you had good signal?

You bought the phone new from sprint? just want to make sure you have the new radios or baseband, you may have seen this in hboot or setting about phone software

OK when you vol down and power that takes you to hboot/bootloader yours is like 2.10 i think. when you go to recovery from there and it took you to the screen with the options like backup/restore, reboot, wipe, mounts, usb/ms toggle that is amon ra also known as your recovery

Put the rom you are dling anywhere on your card so long as you can find it...

Yes once you create a back up in amon ra recovery it will create a file on your sd card called nandroid and your back up will be in there..

oh and dont bother renaming the file you dl either, unless you want to but dont use that pc36img name that was just for flashing an img in hboot, flashing a rom is a whole other beast.

That's right it was ROM manager...and after I used it a bit I really didn't like it, it kept freezing and I just wasn't sure it was working like it was supposed to. Maybe once we are done with this current process you can give me the step by step or lead me to it for using the unrEVOked3 process in the way that you did?

All I did was the unrEVOked3 process...I didn't install or flash anything else except when I used that RUU process and the other file I installed earlier today that you told me about...so I am gonna go with it was most likely just not a great signal. I am inside of a apartment building.

Hi i have tried rooting my wildfire about 10 times on Unrevoked 3 on 2 different computers, one windows 7 and one xp and have got the error message every time . I have factory reset my phone multiple times installed the custom usb drivers and tried charge only and disk drive.

These are all the solutions i could find and i have had no luck please could someone help asap thanks

No, like an idiot I used something off of YouTube.

I assume you get the is your firmware too new error you mean?

If you go to hboot does is still say s-on? That error spits out sometimes but isnt always accurate...

EDIT: WILDFIRE? I may or may not be able to help with that....Im not sure what a wildfire is but smart phones are somewhat similar...

After you successfully boot up on the other side of root go back to recovery and make a new back up and delete that other one, its a back up of an unrooted system img and who wants that you can get that from an ruu, just a waste o space in my opinion, just making it to be safe in case you have trouble getting to the other side.

I didnt see any of them until i could watch them in order

Yeah rom manager was built to be more friendly and control what recovery does. I find recovery itself more friendly.

This may not go perfect without wiping data but you are going stock to stock so I'm hoping it will work...
