can u share how u make ur phone last all day? im barely getting 12 hours after an overnight charge.. although like u said, im not really prepared to cut down on anything major.. the most i'd do is turn off live wallpapers..
My phone charges overnight, from about midnight through till 6am. That's when the alarm goes off and the phone is unplugged, so we start at 6am at 100%.
My average day has me out of the house from 8am till 3pm (I am a postman) and during that time I have WiFi off, Bluetooth off and GPS off. I have the screen set to 100% as I am outside in bright sunshine and due to not having an LED, I find myself turning the screen on every twenty minutes or so to see if I have anything new.
I have four email accounts set up as IDLE IMAP accounts in K-9 Mail so I get instant push notifications (I get about 40 - 50 emails per day), and I have TwiDroyd Pro checking Twitter for messages and replies every thirty minutes. I have turned off or disabled (have rooted and therefore can freeze apps) all Facebook stuff, weather apps, Samsung hubs, stock updates, etc.
So - I have a smart device that is connected all the time, and gives me instant email and regular Twitter updates. That's all I need when out and about.
By the time I get home I am at about 65-70% and then the WiFi goes on and the screen is down to 50% while indoors. I'll catch up on RSS feeds for half an hour or so, Twitter timelines, look at TV schedules. After work I normally jump in the bath for an hour and this is an hour of solid phone use!
Then it's normal stuff all eve - phone is in my pocket and vibrates for emails, etc. Probably use another two hours of screen time. By the time I go to bed and plug it in again, I am at between 10% and 25% of battery.
All in all, it works well for me.
