Radioshack Price Confirmed (Pre-Order page up 6/5/11)

But according to the radioshack ad, smartphones can be traded in for $75 towards the purchase of an evo 3d, though it does say for "select phones" in the fine print i'm assuming that as long as it fits the description in the fine print they'll take it.....atleast I hope so

Go to the trade-in wizard on the site to see what you should expect. The link is up a few posts.

Any idea what the stores do with all these old phones? This must be something that works in their favor, otherwise they would not do it.

I've heard that the government/military buys alot of old and used phones, but I'm not sure if this is true (coming from a "knowledgable" person I used work with ). I'm working at UPS until the end of the year when I get my BA in December and occasionally boxes break open from getting stuck on corners with the conveyor belts. One in the past that had been opened was a box full of used phones (though I'm not sure where they were headed or where they had come from).

A while back when I was working at eBay there were alot of stores that sold used phones as well. I'm not sure what corporations like Radio Shack actually does with them though.

I think that's good question with all electronics now days...people go through so many things such as TV's and what not; they don't seem like they are the most disposable things in the world (and with all of the different componants it doesn't seem feasible to melt them all down and re-use them like with steel, for example).
