Root [index]Useful downloads for root users (updated 22nd July 2011)

Good last resort but a lot of strain on the forum I reckon. The drop box has taken quite a hit.

An external ftp would definitely be a better solution IMHO. Plus the links were a nightmare and took an age to sort, let alone uploading, but I will certainly bear it in mind. Thanks

sorted, ill send you a pm now

pm sent, there should be 1.7 gig more space clear by this evening as i will download my backup and remove it
i never got round to building or restoring my websites so its just storage atm :P
we can have you as maintainer and upload them there and we keep the drop box updated

the good thing about this is that my structure is indexed by default so when ready i will subdomain it and it will just go to the folder structure and people can just browse it

Blacked Out Gmail 2.3.4
Black Gmail, White text

Blacked Out Market 2.3.4.1
Black Market (Very nice!)
First off, I just happen to stumble upon your list of tools, nice work SUroot.
My question is this. What'll happen when either of these apps/skins are updated?
Currently I have Market v2.3.6 but would love to have a blacked out version.

Thank you!

EDIT: I tried to flash these zips using http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...nally-custom-recovery-2-2-1-stock-phones.html but I keep getting "Installation Aborted"
Any idea as to the cause??

Can you please add the system/data/cache sizes of the legacy Alpharev tables?
I already forgot them... :)

Legacy CM7:
system 130MB, Cache 5MB, Data 303MB.

Legacy Oxygen:
I don't quite remember this - System 90MB?, Cache 5MB, Data 343MB?

Can't seem to install the blacked out market - I've done the blacked out gmail without a hitch - but the android market looks exactly the same after I save the zip file, boot into recovery, install the zip (seems to run fine) and then it's the same market - am I doing something stoopid?

Thanks...

You will need to uninstall updates on the market and also remove "market updater" from system/app

You need to download the keyboard and clicker_hi (settings app for keyboard). Extract the .apk's onto your SD card and install using a file manager.

Ok, so the GMail blacked out app looks cool, but I can't read a lot of the emails I get!!! Shame....

Can I just reinstall from market? I didn't understand the part about finding it within the ROM and installing from there, I'm afraid....

Have you got a titanium backup of gmail from before you swapped it out? Did you flash gmail or install it manually?

Went into recovery and installed zip from sd card.

I do have a Titanium back up I think - that'll work. Even if it's an earlier version, I can then update in Market, right?

Yes exactly. Just restore app+data via Titanium should work....

Mind you, are you s-off? May need to enable chuck norris mode..

This is a system/app though. Might be easiest to download the gmail.apk somewhere and put it in the zip to flash over it.
