Your zip is corrupted. Probably happened during the download. Re-download it again, use a card reader if needed to put it onto your sd card, then try to flash it again.

thanks got it, but i tried cm7 and got it but even after flashing the fix my mms is notworking.
Did you flash the MetrOff file too?

yes i did, but after some advise from nutmeg i turned off my wifi and rebooted a few times andit works great. i really want to say thank you to all the devs who compiled this and all the great help and support especially toke and nutmeg ..just to name a few and you too sinner really appreciate it. now if there was only a user manual to explain how to really tweak everything.lol i guess i learn so enough
Is it possible toflash the Huawei Ascend from Cricket service to Virgin Mobile?
Sorry guys, couldn't find a better thread to ask this in; hoping I'll get the attention of some experts. I just rooted my phone yesterday and was considering what mod to flash to, but I am tired of Cricket's shitty service and shitty customer service. Virgin Mobile is CDMA and has the same prepaid monthly rate, running on Sprint's network. Do I need to "unlock" or "jailbreak" the phone to make it work on Virgin? If so, how do I do this? And Virgin already told me they will not register a non-Virgin Mobile phone to their network, so I have to do this on my own as well (if possible). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
p.s. Are the other mods (Icarius, CM6, CM7, etc.) capable of getting better coverage, both 1x and 3G? If so, how??

Should be possible, Just need the VM details etc. Your MEID will have to be added to VM's network too.wyattbrad12

so im kinda new and nuttmeg has been helpin me out alot =) props to him. but seems hes asleep. ive run into a problem while extracting the cwm. i downloaded the cmw zip file, i enabled usb debugging, and booted my phone using fast boot like instructed. but problem is my computer cant open up my phone files. my phone doesnt show up on my control panel. idk if its because i have a highly outdated version of xp on my pc or what. my phone shows up when its booted normal. help or suggestions?

well one xp itself is outdated lol, BUt just what version of XP are you on? At least sp2 I hope. did u ever hook your phone up to your current PC while stock? If not search this site for Huawei Ascend USB driver and download n install them.

i'm assuming you are flashing the cwm files. when your phone is in fast boot it doesn't show up on the pc but you will get the little noise that indicates a usb device being plugged in. just run the windows files in the cwm folder and you will be good.
disconnect usb after the flash is complete and then pull out the battery.
boot into recovery to make sure the flash worked (power vol up and send/answer buttons all at once.)

lol sorry for my ignorance but once again im lost lmao. how do i run the cwm files from my computer? im not familiar with any of this im on my friends computer now though and its windows 7 64 bits so im not using. and your right the lil usb noise goes off so its connected but i still cant find a way to run cwm

I had the same problem. I believe I fiddled around with taking the battery out, then fast booting, then plugging in to a different USB port. Took a few tries to get it. It was really late last night, and I don't remember exactly what I did. Reinstalled the drivers, maybe?

i got it =) ok if anyone else is having the problems what i was doing wrong was i interpreted the guide wrong. i downloaded the cwm to my phone and tried to open the files through the pc. instead i opened the cwm link from my pc and extracted the files that way worked like a charm took 5 seconds. didnt even need to look for my phone on the pc

ok so when installing the cm7 it tells u do drop the files into the main part of you sd card. i see tons of folders to drop in but none say sd card or anything. .albumthumbs, .dataviz, .thumbnails, android, androzip, cloclworkmod, data, dcim, download, freemusicdownload, gosms, lazylist, lost.dir, media, myflix, mypix, mysounds, pics, titu, vids. lol i have no clue where to drop these files

The main part of the sd card just means not in any folder.

I want cm6 but i dont think my ascend can handle it or something, flashed 421 version with lp, using 2.xxxx and 3.xxxxx and both times it worked for a bit then started rebooting over and over and wifi worked....sigh back to imod which is great, just wanted 2.2 and netflix....

Yesterday I put the Playfulmod froyo on and it was seeming really cool until i got the uim card error. D'oh! Had to flash back to stock.
This morning I decided to go for CM7....holy crap! CM7 is lightening fast. I followed the instructions and everything is working great. It seems like a different phone. Even better once I put on Launcher Pro. Thanks a ton!!!

I have tried multiple times to follow the instructions to install CM6 and CM7 but every time I finish and restart the system now the phone just freezes at the startup screen. I have let it sit for up to an hour and multiple times and still nothing. At one point I force flashed back to stock and that worked and I tried all over again but still freezes at the same point after everything else seems to go as expected. Anyone else with this problem and figured out how to get it to work? PLEASE!
I have spent hours on this forum reading and trying to find an answer but I seem to be doing everything you say and need help!

on cm7 just flash the cm7.zip and reboot the phone and see if that works before flashing gapps, also what build are you trying to flash?

Me again. I was doing the Ultimate Ascend Customization by token poke. I got as far as trying to install cm7 and something had to go wrong because I tried to reboot my phone and it wont get past the Huawei screen....please help!!!!!
I tried that but it still froze at the end while trying to boot up. I have tried both CM6 and CM7- the lastest of both from the prepaidandroid link and also the latest of the CWM- I think it is 3.0.2.8 I ended up just restoring it back to the original for now and that worked but I would really like to get CM6/7 on it. Any suggestions?
