Can anyone confirm an alledged upcoming GB patch?

(This would be a patch to the .596 OTA)

I frequent 3 different phone forums. Somewhere one person told me they'd spoken to a 2nd tier Verizon Tech support person and was told there was a patch in the works.

Has anyone else actually heard this or seen it reported from a good source?

Thanks in advance,

Bruce in Ocala, FL

im sure there will be a patch of some sort at some time down the road...there were bugs in Eclair, there were bugs in Froyo...there are bugs in Gingerbread...Moto has been pretty good about patches in the past...

Verizon Wireless and Motorola work together to get any necessary software updates/patches to our customers in a timely manner. The phones will be notified when new software is available. You can also find out more about software releases on twitter @verizonwireless.

if/when a patch happen, it'll be quite some time down the road. wouldn't get your hopes up though. sucks this was our last big OTA update

One of the reasons I left GB was because all of my music apps would crash the phone and cause reboots every minute or so. Wanna listen to a new song? You're gonna have to wait a minute till your phone restarts. Every single time. Oh and it'll probably crash again before the song even finishes playing.

What I'm saying is, it better be coming soon. Cause that was annoying as hell.

I have not had ONE crash or FC with PowerAmp on GB. Not a-one! I wonder if there is an issue with your phone.

I have had similar issues. I have tried many different music players, including not using the music on my sd card and trying to listen to a cloud player with still the same problem. I hope they fix it soon!

What needs fixed? mine works fine lol

..crawls out from under a rock...

Read the many threads on this.

laggy keyboard
Horrible battery life
reboots
glitchy screen transistions
etc. etc.

And no amount of data resets, etc. help for those that have issues. Even SBFing the clean GB release still has the issues.

I dont have any of those issues tho ;) Well ok I may have had a few random reboots, but I seen that on every ROM/version/platform out for every phone so lol

GB runs great on my phone as well. We really need to figure out all these problems people are having and see if we as a community can fix them. I don't buy the "you're just not doing it right," excuse... there's obviously something that's going wrong for a lot of people that shouldn't be.

But should it happen multiple times a day? Both x owners at home have been experiencing that. Its really bad. Not catastrophic but very annoying. Especially if I'm listening to music. I had random reboot before but once in a while not once every few hours

did you do a data wipe/factory reset before taking the OTA??

an update patch is always in the works. It's the natural software life cycle. Big update..lots of lil update/patches/bug fixes....repeat over and over.
