Second when i flash the new rom does the old rom get deleted automaticly? and all the custimixations i flashed for the rom?

last what all i need to flash to my evo
right now i dl the rom, but on the xda-link there is also a download for a "virusrom gfx fix" and a "1.77 pri downgrade"

and is the b1.3 version the latest version?a

good rom to choose by the way. i love it so far.
1.always make a nandroid backup. they are your friend.
2.yes the old one gets deleted along with your apps and data. use titanium backup to backup and restore your apps
3.so flash your pri, rom, and gfx in that order.
4.yes b1.3 is the latest. however there are nightlies floating around but those are betas. 1.3 is very stable.

do i flash then rebbot , then flash rom and reboot, then flash gfx and rebbot?

or can i jsut flash in that order then rebbot once im done

yep that is the best way to do it, unfortunately. just in case something goes wrong it will help to pinpoint where it went wrong.

get the titanium backup app.. and do a backup of your data and apps.. it will save spots in any games.. and stuff..

Also, something not mentioned.. is you should partition your SD card before doing all this..

What did you do to root your phone? unrevoked?

here is what i would do..

1. BACK UP YOUR MEMORY CARD TO YOUR COMPUTER AS THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING!!==== THIS IS IMPORTANT
2. Reboot into recovery (Use Amon RA 2.3==NOTHING OTHER THEN AMON )
3. Select =Partition sdcard=
4. Select =Partition SD=
5. Set swap to 0 (you can leave this at 32mb, I did.)
6. Ext2-size = 2048 (2GB - the 3.0 packages eat up a lot of the internal memory, you can adjust this lower, but 2GB is recommended if you have a lot of apps I did 2 and a half)
7. Select upgrade ext2 to ext3 ===DO NOT UPGRADE EXT 3 TO EXT 4=====
8.. Now go back and mount your SD card
9.. Place all your files back on the card. Also add the ROM, PRI 1.77 downgrade is recommended you will have WAKE ISSUES IF YOU DON'T.
10. If you have to flash the PRI, do so now and reboot. If not, move on.
12. Wipe everything you normally would prior to flashing a new rom.
13. Flash Kingdom
14. First boot takes about 3 to 5 mintues to get started.
15. Flash the GFX fix
16. Reboot
17. ENJOY THE ROM

Just a note.. please dont be impatient.. let the phone sit, and load.. each time, when you wipe, and flash, it takes time to rebuild the cache.. just be patient..

And come back here with questions. me personally.. i had this site up and the XDA site up while i was doing it all.. :)

here is where you get AMONra recovery..

I am new to flashing rom's and I need help. I want to flash a version of sense 2.0 to my evo, but whenever I download it, it is a folder not a .zip file. What do I do?

ok so this is the direct download link: Incredible-S-Beta-By-Incubus26Jc-EVO.zip select the download button underneath the name of the file. it is a .zip file. do not extract it. just place it on your sdcard after download and flash away.

Ok. Thank you so much, just one more question. I probably won't be keeping this rom, I just want to try it out because there are still bugs. I created a rom manager backup, so if i want to switch back to my old stock rom, do I just backup from there?

ok one word on rom manager. do not use it. it tends to be buggy and does not do a good job at wiping. i would do everything manually. and i would also recommend that you switch recoveries to amon ra2.3. never had any issues with it. actually you can use rom manager(only thing it is really good for) to switch recoveries. just select alternate recovery and disregard the warning and select amon ra 2.3. then make a nandroid backup as your previous ones will not work.

install amon ra2.3 and then i can walk you through how to do everything else if you have time for it.

ok. If you could that would help.

ok so once amon ra is installed, first thing you should do is make a nandroid backup.
1.so to get to recovery (power off then press and hold power+vol down) and select recovery from the hboot menu.
2.once in recovery select "backup and restore" and select backup.
3.now you will have a choice on what you want to backup. i always select the 1st three that is already checked off. just make sure that you have one nandroid backup with your wimax key backed up on your computer. so it is not necessary to always backup wimax that way it will save some room on your sd card.

now you have a nandroid backup. and to go back to a nandroid back, just go to recovery and select backup and restore and select restore. amon ra uses dates to name the nandroid. find the right date and select it and it will restore you to the state of your phone previously.

once all that is done we can talk about flashing if you need help.

Ok, ow when the file was downloading, it was a .zip file, but now that it finished and got on my computer, it automatically became a folder. I don'y know if it unzipped or what. Should i .zip it?

do you have a mac? not very familiar with macs. i think they do unzip the files automatically. you may have re-zip them, but i do not know how to do that on a mac.

So I flashed alternate recovery, and it didn't let me select ra 2.3, it just did something and said successfully flashed recovery. At the bottom of that though, it says RA recovery v2.3. Is that the same thing and is it installed?

Nevermind, I got it. I am doing the nandroid backup right now. I probably will need help for flashing once it is done.

ok so glad that you got it. now that you have a nandroid backup here is what i do with zero issues:
1.download and transfer a rom of your choice and transfer it to your sd card.
2.make a nandroid backup( did that already so skip)
3.wipe dalvik cache, cache, and system.
4.then i flash this file:MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service. it just does a superwipe and creates a very clean environment for your rom to install
5.next flash your rom of your choice

hope that helps. any more questions you know what to do.

edit: first boot after flashing or even wiping will always take longer sometimes up to 15 min or so. so do not panic if it takes longer then normal.

Ok. Nandroid is done and I am ready to flash

hope you have your rom you want.. if you do.. go ahead and do a full factory data reset..
go to wipe, choose wipe cache, then davlik cache.. then do that 2 more times just to be safe

go to load zip from sd, find your rom, flash it.. let it do its thing..

reboot, and be patient.. that is key.. some roms take longer to reload the cache.. get first boot going.. after that.. you should be good..
