Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

FWIW, I was having a big problem this morning with cell standby using the most of my battery. Then this afternoon I went into recovery and just installed nightly7 from sd card over the 7 I already had installed and the problem seems to have gone away.

This works for Handcent but i don't know about other messaging apps

Yep, I think there's something "wrong" with the I/O test. Now that I see your chart, I'm almost certain. It's not testing the I/O in the same way it was before the upgrade.

The database writes test zips by instead of pausing like it does on, well, just about every phone.

CM4DX would still be faster than the other phones if you shrunk that I/O bar down to a normal size, but it shouldn't be that many hundreds of points higher.

My refurb replacement overclocks like crazy, though. I had it up at 1.45 GHz and was clocking like 3300 points in Quadrant.

I noticed that high I/O score and wondered WTH?
I performed the test using Quadrant Advanced.
I am going to run a new test using Quadrant Standard.

I have yet to do any overclocking on this new refurb/certified like new DX.
Regardless, I know without a doubt that CM4DX runs like butter.
(and its only in beta)
To me better than .596 and definitely better than FROYO. ugh
 
There's no doubt that CM7 is slick and fast, I just don't think it's 1000 legitimate benchmark points higher than Gingerbread...

Definitely loving it overall, though!
 
I've noticed that my fellow CM7 users are raving about how DSPManager has made their phone speakers sound. I must admit to being a bit curious. As I have little to no knowledge of how to properly operate an audio equalizer, I'm not exactly sure how to utilize this program.

Any audiophiles want to take a crack at explaining this one?
 
Just SBF'ed, rooted, D2Bootstraped, and installed Nightly #7 and camera fix. Loving this ROM so far. My hard buttons seem to be tinted yellow instead of bright white. No video or native camcorder yet, some hard buttons need to be pressed twice to register. Other than that, no issues so far. Loving the speed of this ROM. Button up the few lingering issues and this will be out of BETA by the end of the week.

i hate to post a noob comment ...but Is CM7...nightly 7 worth giving a shot now? What are some of the remaining bugs? Does GPS work?

I FINALLY GET TO GO BACK TO MY DX FROM MY WACKBERRY ON FRIDAY....I'M SO FRIGGIN EXCITED LOL. ITS BEEN TWO AND A HALF WEEKS.

Hulu Plus just hit the market for Android.
Good news: Droid X is supported.
Bad news: IT doesn't work on CM4DX.
HULU PLUS doesn't recognize the DX with CM4DX installed.
(Yes, I know Hulu Plus is built for Android 2.3.3 and not 2.3.4 = CM4DX)

Yes, but I would wait for build #8. Less than 3 hours away now.
Nightly#7 : GPS works. Network location works. CRT Animation now included as well as ERI banner.

Remaining bugs are battery drain, camcorder still broken.
There is a CWR Zip that fixes the camera/Netflix/YouTube/ and Quadrant.

yeah more than likely it will be Friday night at the earliest before i can slap it on. So i guess i'll put either build 8 on or wait for 9.
 
Anyone flashed #8 yet? Is the only fix needed the camera fix? I'm on #6 right now.

Haven't flashed anything in over 24 hours! Getting kinda antsy! LOL

Haha, was just reading the changelog as I got to work. Went back to Liberty last night, but made sure to d/l #8 before I left the house incase I wanted to switch back.
