Night Owls Club-grab some coffee

I think i just won't go :p

Oh but you must! It's one of those cities that's unlike any other city in the world. It's so unique. I've taken quite a few of my international friends and they all really enjoyed Las Vegas because it was so different. I think it's one of the must-visit cities in the US, including NYC, LA, D.C., and San Fran.

Morning. Can someone please pass me some advil and a vat of coffee.
OOOOH we always pay the piper in the morning for the fun we have the night before. I would say if you had access to 100% oxygen it would cure the hangover. Its an old crew chief trick I learned back in my military days. Funny to watch the people monday morning walk out to the planes first thing in the morning before getting their tools or anything. From what I heard it does work.

Hope ya feel better.

Of course LA! :) There's so much to do and see here.

I actually have a cousin in England... so I'll have to visit her while she's still there. :) She moved there because her husband's British.

There's so much to see in the US, so it would take more than 1 month to do everything: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Fran, Yosemite, Seattle, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, Orlando, D.C., NYC, and more national parks for the natural beauty of the U.S.

My mom and I are going to do a grand tour of Europe next year, so I'm very excited about that. :) England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Vatican City, Russia, and Germany.

I really want to do Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Ireland but we have a limited amount of time to do the countries already on the list.

All i here is bad things about it. Sounds like a bigger Dublin to me

Norleans??? :L
Never heard of Yosemite
I'd like to go to San Fran, NYC, DC, Orlando, Yellowstone, Seattle (so i can go to BC :D) and the Grand Canyon.
But i also want to travel around Europe. If i can't do both, I'd rather spend the money at home :S

4 hours in the car, 1 1/2 of which I spent in the middle of a group of crotch rockets, 44 ounces of coffee, 2 big bottles of water and 3 rounds of advil later. So now I'm just tired.

Wish I could have done the oxygen trick though. Probably would have required less liquid and pit stops.

I did find a new drink last night though - Three Olives Pomegranate Vodka and club soda with lime. Yum!! and the 3 or 4 shots of tequila - and no, I do not use salt or lemon with my tequila.

Exactly what stuff do you hear about LA? I do know that there's a lot of smog and traffic during the rush hours. LA is a must for tourists due to Beverly Hills/Bel Air, Hollywood, original Disneyland, plentiful amount of true CA beaches (if you're into beaches), and so forth.

I don't remember what city but I believe 1 hour above London somewhere in the countryside.

New Orleans, Louisiana is really unique in the U.S. It's such a different feel and the French Quarter is where the fun occurs.

Yosemite National Park is in California. It's the 2nd most visited national park behind Yellowstone. I've been to both and liked Yellowstone more but Yosemite is still a great national park to visit. There's so many great national parks in the U.S.

Too big to navigate, nothing special, NYC is better for shopping, expensive, dirty
Sorry :(

The countryside ... it isn't Milton Keynes is it by any chance?

Ah sounds interesting. I presume its still a functioning French Quarter? :)

I always here great things about your Parks. Never been to one apart from the volcanos in Lanzarote (Canary islands)

Those people that told you that it was nothing special obviously didn't know what they were doing or what to do. :p I haven't had a friend who stayed with me for a week and say that LA was "meh". It is definitely a "car rental" city for tourists. I don't understand how tourists go around LA without a tour bus or a rental car. I hope they don't plan on using the public transit system because the things to do in LA are just far too wide apart for it to be sensible and time efficient. It's also a completely different beast than Manhattan. For example... no one goes to Manhattan to relax on a beach and no one goes to LA to see iconic skyscrapers (US Bank Tower is the most iconic of LA but it's nothing compared to Manhattan's icons). There are many great shopping areas in LA... but again, they're spread out. If you want to do luxury, fashion house shopping... the absolute best place to do it is in LA at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. That's where the celebrities shop and all of the major fashion houses are located in a very small area.

I don't recognize that name so I know that she doesn't live there.

The touristy parts of New Orleans are basically all back to normal. :)

Gah.. a car city?? gah. You lost me :p

What i meant regarding the French Quarter is is it still Frenchy (not that way :p)?

lol no it's not French. The French Quarter has the very Southern architecture and old town feel with a lively, colorful atmosphere. There is still some French around on signs and such but no French is spoken. Even if it was spoken, it would be Louisiana French, which is basically just spoken in the more rural parts of French-speaking Louisiana. It's unfortunately an endangered dialect.

Or right. We have our own French quarter with no French in Cork City too. I get an awful feeling I'm gonna miss Cork if i go away for long. Its a deadly city and everyone who goes away always wants to come back.

I'd miss a deadly city too. I need at least a moderate amount of death. :p
Corks death rate is actually muchlower then the average in Ireland

Deaths

In 2008, there were 28,192 deaths (14,413 males and 13,779 females) registered in Ireland and 3,142 deaths (1,623 males and 1,519 females) registered in Cork (City & County). The death rate was 6.4 per 1,000 population in Ireland and 6.3 per 1,000 population in Cork (City & County).
Over three in every four deaths were from either diseases of the circulatory system (35%), cancer (29%), or diseases of the respiratory system (12%) in 2008.

Seriously its like a disease :L
