You do NOT want to disable the lock screen while in call, the phone does not have a proximity sensor, it should, if your screen is in contact with your face you will be pressing and moving icons and all other assorted things.

yea i understand but what are the odds of hanging up when you have to slide it to hang up.
I dont think the slide to hang up is the problem, as I said the screen pressed to your cheek is at best going to pop up the widget menu, at worst it will open icons you could end up with lots of apps running.

I understand your point, but is annoying when I am on the headset and I am calling my bank or something that requires me to enter a bunch of numbers. I wish there was a way to toggle this or to add 5 sec delay.

I don't think the screen is actually locking, it usually just goes black when you're on a call, but it's not really locked. It seems to me that if I move my phone away from my head quickly it will unlock and then I can press the dialpad button to enter numbers (if in your example of calling your bank).

I can't imagine that you would want to not have it lock as pp said. I'm desperately trying to find an app that I like that will lock the phone while I'm on a call because I'm constantly face pressing things on the phone when I'm on a call...it's obnoxious.

Good luck.

I too am annoyed when I use my phone for a call and I am asked to punch in numbers. For example when calling voice mail you need to enter your 4 digit pin on the dial pad. But you know what? I got used to taking an extra 2 seconds to hit the unlock button and then swipe up the dial pad tab and punch in the numbers. It's only an extra 2-3 seconds max. There's a reason why they have a screen lock when you're on a call. I rather spend an extra 2 seconds unlocking the phone to get to the dial pad rather than unknowingly having a bunch of apps opened by my face(btw it can do other cool tricks too not just pressing buttons on a touch screen :p) and having to go back after a phone call to kill all of them. Even worse those apps that are running could drain the battery even further lowering your talk time.

With boost I think you can set up so if calling from your phone you do NOT need to put in your pin. Granted that means you better not let someone else call your voice mail with your phone :p
These days there is so many things that ask you to punch buttons, man I hate automated phone systems. :D

Yea had to set my pin up so my old lady doesn't check up on me :D jk or am I

Well I know some of them use voice recognition too but yea not all are as sophisticated in using touch tones. I just thought about this: All these banks have all these new fees and they keep getting higher but they can't afford to have a live person to answer their phone lines. I know I know this isn't a rant thread :p

I got same problem as reeshmd23 said.
When i'm calling there are two sliders that gives me option to end call and/or go to another page that contains speaker on , keypad and etc... therefore i don't need the screen goes off and the phone become locked.
And this really drives me crazy to turn the screen on by pushing a key and then unlock the phone and after these all slide the slider to get the keypad to put the numbers i want.

anyone knows how i can prevent screen-off and phone lock while calling ?

PS :
No proximity sensor
