Root GB miui 2.3.5

Using latest xj miui and tried to add the htc ime mod keyboard to the rom but kept force closing. Anyone have same problem and or solution???

How did you install it??

Followed instructions as per xda site..... a couple of times !!! As below really ........
Download and unzip (not flashable update.zip!) Install the two apks (HTC_IME & Clicker) using your favorite method (via a file manager or adb install -r). Sense users shouldn't (and needn't) install Clicker. There is no need to push anything to /system Go to Menu, Settings, Language & Keyboard. Activate "HTC_IME mod" To change keyboard, long press on lower left key on stock keyboard or any input field. Select input method in the menu. See note below if you have earlier versions than v22 installed already!

Are you S-OfFFed by any chance? If so use root explorer to install the apks. Move the apks to system/apps. Set permissions accordingly and hit install! If they dont show up on teh homescreen reboot your boot it may do the trick...

No... and still new but a willing student to all this!!! Can you explain 'adb to push it through' process please.... and thanks!

Ok do you remember where you saved the sdk? Its also known as "android sdk windows". It should be in your C drive. Once you found it place the apk you are pushing in the "tools" folder of sdk. Once you done that make sure your phone is debugged and hooked up to your computer then run "cmd" on your computer and type:

cd\
cd\sdk (name it how its shown on your computer)\tools
adb devices
adb remount
adb push "name of file" /system/app/

The apks should show up on your homescreen. Job done!

just installed miui xj 1.7.15 and it seem to be running fine, i did do two updates that were in chinese and some of my stuff changed language, i reflashed the rom and ignored the update and its working well so far.
The only problem im getting is some of my widgets dont work after doing something else, Example my custom clock widget came up saying loading after a phone call so i had to add it to homescreen again.
I'm currently using Go Launcher as my launcher.

Those gadgets only got released last week so expect some bugs! Good news though tomorrow's update focuses on stability and bugs so hopefully they will iron that out...

You'll get there eventually :) By the way Phil is the FM radio working for you? Heard its a bit of hit and miss at the mo??

By the way Phil and zig1 have you both tried the "extended setting mod"? Basically this mod gives you an option to tweak status bar. You can choose to remove/add clock, date, debug plus gives you options to choose date formats aswell.. It works brilliantly for alot of people including me and the mod developer updates it every weekend! Currently works on 1.7.15. Highly recommended!

Thought about it, then forgot again! Will have a look today after work while tryin to sort out my HTC keyboard issues as well!!

Was busy at work so tonight will have a go with ur instructions of course! Not the greatest tech me, only rooted last 4 months or so and it frightened the life out of me! Learning as I go and without you boys (and girls) I'd be lost!

Lol I was exactly the same few months ago I started rooting at the end of december but if it wasnt for Suroot and Rastaman I would be lost and probably too scared to try it!

Is this where you update xj rom.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957291 thought it's usually sat before he releases his updates???

Yeah thats the website. Sometime he releases them on Saturdays but most of the time he gets them out on Fridays...
