I wasn't trying to be a dick, but if someone isn't willing to read but is willing to offer advise that is what they get.
If they just read my post and used a little comprehension they would have realized my question was beyond their scope of expertise.
The alternate perspective you might consider is this: While they may not have been able to answer your question, they also saw an opportunity to learn based on what you said, so they had their own question. Generally it's advisable on these forums to not lash out at people unless it's so very obviously needed (i.e., if someone else starts the lashing and you're reminding them such things are unacceptable). He showed no disrespect or aggression toward you. An alternate answer that would have avoided unnecessary conflict might have been something like this:
"Sleep mode is, according to this site (Android Sleep/Standby Mode - Stack Overflow), when the CPU and other ancillary radios such as WiFi or GPS shut off. That link also clarifies how the screen turning off does not equate sleep mode, although the phone may go into sleep mode shortly after the screen turns off. My screen timeout settings are <whatever they are>."
Such an answer would have been far more amicable toward a person who was only trying to help, and anyone else who thought they had information to offer would have still replied to you. Plus, the tidbit about sleep mode would have answered a question that probably many were unwilling to ask, out of fear of the very kind of response you provided.
I don't have a direct answer to your question, but hunting around to learn what sleep mode was made me curious, so I downloaded CPU spy. Is that what you used to determine that your phone never sleeps?
