Root Unofficial CM7 port, inquire within.

Not really. In get until the point where it`s building the Mms.apk but gives an error saying mismatched tag: error parsing xml. The error says that it`s coming from the /device/lge/thunderc/overlay-MS690/packages/apps/Mms/res/xml/mms_config.xml

I dont know if it`s that the Optimus M has an option for video and the cyanogen one doesnt.

But I`m trying again without that option on the overlay-MS690 folder.

Sounds like the XML itself is just not well-formed. Can you fork the repository on github, push your changes and file a pull request so I can take a peek?

Thanks.

What fun stuff are you talking about? Would the stock android source not work for you? I have already ported the optimus v cmod7 to this phone so I could probably help you out a bit. What more than porting are you wanting to achieve.

Do you have the source for your kernel put up anywhere?

Sorry man I don't. I don't have broadband. I downloaded the original LG source by tethering my phone if you can believe that. I can upload my .config file if that will help. I modified some of the source to add an interactive governor but besides that the configuration file should allow you to compile the same kernel.

Hi Guys,
I hope you don't mind a couple of questions from a novice. Specifically for Reppard and Joneidy: I installed the GB-CMod7-Beta ROM with much trial and error and a lot of help from these forums, and have been using it for a couple of months.

I was just reading about Joneidy's recent update to the Sense ROM and wondering if I should flash it (don't know if it'll work on my phone), or should I wait until you finish what you're working on here (It appears that this may be an update for GB-CMod7-Beta ROM). I am totally in the dark as to what I should do, if anything. I was really drawn to the fact that Joneidy got Bluetooth working properly on the Sense ROM.

I hope you don't mind these Noob questions and I must say I'm in awe with what you guys do. I'm open to suggestions if you have the time to reply.

Cheers......Tom

Hope you don't mind me chiming in but, I would flash the Sense ROM and wait for a ready for prime time version of the CM7; which is what I've done.
If you're like me and you need the phone to perform without a hitch or glitch, then get the stability that the Sense ROM provides.

Thanks for the reply Jabbawest. Being new at this, what precautions should I take before flashing the Sense ROM and do I have any thing to be concerned of by going from the GB-CMod7-Beta ROM to the Sense ROM? Right now my phone info says I have Android Version 2.3.3 and I think the Sense ROM is 2.2.1 (I did download the 7-18-2011 version). Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again......Tom

No, you have nothing to be concerned about, Sense has more stability and according to your post is on Froyo still, its a ready polished ROM for normal use, CMOD7 is on Gingerbread its still has some hiccups and issues and bugs but hopefully it gets fixed soon. If you like having fun, then CMOD7 is for you, if you get easily frustrated with somethings that don't work (random freezes + force closes) then Sense is for you until CMOD7 gets cleaned up.

Cool. What else did you need to change?

I just had to repo sync and change the mms_config. Then I start to build and after I flashed all the sensors and keyboard problems were solve.

I have been using for like a week and its very stable. I haven't had any problems at all. Lol

Putting that entry on one line fixed it? Or was there some other change?

Can we get a download link to try this out? :D

Putting the text on one line didn't work. So I just took the mms_config form the V and used that one. Im still trying to figure out how to get mms working. I changed the mms_config after I build the rom and replaced with the metro one. But somehow I still can't receive or send mms.

Didn't work as in didn't build? Or didn't work as in MMS didn't send/recv?

No problem but as I said before they are useless. Anyway they are attached.

With this ROM, if you go into the web market, what carrier does Google think you have? None? MetroPCS? Other?

Looks like the APN configuration is correct, but either I've set the MCC/MNC wrong, or CM has. If the Android market identifies you as having a MetroPCS phone I'll correct the apns-conf.xml, if it doesn't, I'll change the build.prop.
