Help market apparently automatically updated and is now broken

I noticed a slightly different icon for the market a couple of hours ago and I have not been able to open the market since. I did not accept an update, and I didn't see a download meter but when I open up the market it has a grey background instead of white and like I said the icon is slightly different. It auto force closes and I see the "force close/wait" prompt come up but it is there for less than a second. Much too fast to touch either button and it goes back to the homescreen. Anyone else having this problem?
 
I have the same problem . Rooted lg ally running velocity 2.2 . I have just begun browsing forums for help to fix the problem. If i come across anything i will post it here

Try goin to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Press the "ALL" Tab.> Find and choose "Market" >Choose clear data and if you can also choose uninstall updates.> Press back and choose "Market Updater" and try to do the same thing.

There is no Velocity 2.2. I think he meant he was running Velocity on 2.2
