Well, first off, im new here to the forums, even though I've been lingering around for quiet a while. With that said, I've been a die-hard BlackBerry Supporter and haven't owned any other phone for the past ... I'd say 8 years.

Anyways, It's time for me to switch to the Android World, and after much reading up on it, I've decided I will be getting the Droid Bionic on September 8th (it better come out that day!!) since my Birthday is on the 10th .... figured it's a great B-Day present.

So .... who else will be getting it on September 8th?? :D

EDIT: Is there any confirmation as to wether the Bionic will have 512MB of Ram or 1GB? I keep reading different things and I am hella curious!

haha thanks. I actually came to the conclusion to switch after my wife got an Android Phone and I found myself playing with it more than my own BlackBerry. Figured it was a sign :p

Whatever the release date is ... that's when I'm getting mine. I've had the OG DROID since one week after it's release date and haven't been disappointed since. It's been rooted since 12/09 and has had literally HUNDREDS of ROMs installed. But it's high-time for an upgrade. And the Bionic is the only phone that's turning my head.

As for you being hooked on crackberry for the past 8 years ... that's kinda sorta impressive. And kinda sorta pathetic all in the same breath. ;)
 
I'm coming over from a BB Storm2 (and 5 years with BB) and jumping into the Android OS as well...BB just doesn't get it; hopefully they will before it's too late. Welcome to the forum and I will be pre-ordering it as soon as they say...GO!

Nice choice. I'll be waiting a little while longer to see what else comes out, but Bionic will make a helluva nice bday present for you.

It was originally spec'ed at 512MB when announced in January, but the newer model about to be released under the Bionic name has 1GB of fast LPDDR2 RAM.

I came from BB Tour and the OG Droid opened up a whole new world for me. Nonetheless I'm also hoping RIM will finally become competitive again w/their new QNX-based phones.
 
QNX-based phones - ahh, how I loved QNX 4 - floppy version. lol. We used it at IBM Global Services a lot for POS controller machines....

The marriage b/w GOOG and MOTO should make things very interesting, though....
 
Welcome to AF, fellow phandroids. Great to have you'se along for the ride. It's my intention to have the Bionic the day it drops, and yes, I'm super excited.
 
My wife will be joining the android ranks as well from BB, probably find a Droid 3 for her for christmas, as will be paying full price, and with tiered data she won't need LTE.
