Hello. Ive had this phone for a little less than 2 weeks now, and its sad to say not even 1 hour after I first turned it on, it reboot itself. Since then its been constantly doing it all day, everyday. I'm sure I'm not the only one facing this issue. So I've been reading posts on this forum and others.
Like this one.
The idea to return the phone has popped into my mind a few times, but I'm always one the go and in constant need of communication, the time it would take for a replace would ruin me. (plus the added chance of getting another malfunctioning phone...ugh.)
Personally, I've been scouting out fixes (kinda) for this issue.
I've found a few that other people have suggested:
1. Uninstalling everything and doing a factory restore. (did not work for me.)
2. Removing all 3rd party apps. (did not work for me.)
3. Rooting and removing Metro's crappware.
To be honest i think it made my phone worse, but worth getting rid of Easy Wi-Fi.
4. Rooting and flashing a rom. (Personally, I find this too risky.)
5. Updating through LG. I heard it worked for a few people.
6. Running apps that prevent or kill processes and free memory. Like "task killer" or "memory booster". (I've used both, didn't help specifically, but it was still useful)
7. Launching a different "Home". I found this just a few mins ago and I am currently testing it now. I'll let you know how that goes later. (it says its for the Optimus Black, which im assuming has the same issues, though on the bottom of the post it says it works with Optimus M too)
Here is the Link.
8. Wait for 2.3 update. (lol.)
9. SD card failure. Remove, Reboot, Format, or Replace. (wasn't my issue)
10. The dreaded return.
(more information on that is outlined in the first link)
From what I've read or seen, it seems one "fix" may work for someone but not someone else. I hope something works. (Or at least LG tries to fix this issue.)
I would like to see what you guys think, maybe more ideas for fixes.
This thread was made to post possible fixes for the LG Optimus M freeze/reboot issue, please maintain the topic.
Good Luck with your phone. And have a nice day.
