Dude, the freaking O/S just got released. Give them some time.
I give them Kudos for getting out the OTA so fast. Before pretty much anyone got it OTA.
All the rooted people can go get it and point and laugh at us stock people for getting the same damn release faster than we did.

Won't make a difference. If you're stock with the stock recovery you'll get it.

Yeah, if they release the RUU, stock users could also update via the old update.zip method but it's probably not really worth it considering it's so close. There may be some leak source protection in play here too idk. No sense in taking chances since the release is supposedly upon us.

I remember users asking other users who downloaded the update to post the update.zip pack BEFORE they install it. Not sure if that would work for people here.

It is okay, I don't know about as fast as cyanogenmod..... It definitely uses more ram. Hopefully some nice 2.1/3.0 roms will come from this.

if anyone here is even considering rooting, i'd do it now, might be a while before a new root exploit is found (if ever).
IF you even THINK you want to root. DO IT NOW.
Like others keep reminding folks, THIS UPDATE BREAKS THE CURRENT ROOT METHOD.
There is no promise that we'll get it back, ever...
Given the age of this phone there will be less people trying to crack it, so it could take months to get the ability to root back. (maybe even never)

yeah, i was looking at it, I think I'm going to give it a week and see what shakes out.
I'm lazy and tend not to re-flash very often, I think I'm going to do it "right" and decide what ROM I want, wipe everything on my phone and set it up again from scratch to get a clean install...

Sorry if this is kind of a newb question, but since they have rooted the OTA release already, wouldn't that imply that they will know how to root after a stock OTA push too?
