I dunno. Maybe our phones were not as phucked up as everyone else? I have had the 3G/1X every so often, so maybe it will fix that? I plan to keep an eye on my phone regarding that. I have not received any stronger signal though. Still the same dbm in the same places Im at. Work and home. :confused:

EDIT: What CM7 build are you on Airmaxx?
 
dbm is better now, maybe this newest baseband provides a more accurate readout.
The other thing I noticed is since I upgraded my radio, I haven't had any screwy in-call phone behavior and/or dropped calls. (Hard to tell whether or not the screwiness was from the previous radio, or the nightly build itself, we are in beta and must be kept a possible factor, or the fact I am using a REFURBED certified like new DX. Ugh)
My call quality has shot through the roof, it wasn't bad before, but it wasn't perfect.

Man I love when you buy a brand new phone....then have a problem later on down the road, and VZW thinks it okay to send you a "certified like new, use to be someone else's problem phone" to you.
My sarcasm is so strong the scent is nearly choking me to death.

There are many variables to consider...
Everyone's DX is going to perform differently in some aspect.
Kind of like no two people are or behave in identical ways.

Back to more testing and tinkering =)
 
Went from this to MIUI to Shuji and I think I wanna go back to this as MIUI has some inconsistency problems with its weekly updates and Shuji's not doing anything for me. But I think I'm gonna gold off for a bit because I'm going to a Foo Fighters Concert and I wanna record it in 720p with the concert audio setting :cool:

So what is so special about them apart from having the torch and camera fix included? Netflix does not bother me as I dont use it.

I don't think much. It is just so that everything works in one flash. Oh, and is the camcorder fix in the official yet? The recording isn't all squished like it was before..... still not 720p I don't think
 
Another thing included in the unofficial nightlies is the battery fix. A certain xml file was fixed to better report battery use. I'm on the unofficial nightly and I can attest that it does work.

I'm half tempted to try this out again.

Any chance of getting the xml in a flashable zip that'll work on the other 2nd-init ROMs? I'd love that XML fix on OMGB. I prefer the stock launcher to be honest.

EDIT: Does anyone know if this works on the DX http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933517 (Just the launcher, not the Mod)?

HERE is the power_profile.xml file that was edited for the battery fix, I pulled it from the unofficial nightly for August 15 and uploaded it to mediafire. Maybe someone can create a flashable zip with it....nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Interesting. May have to try this out again. As soon as I get a rom set up I switch back to another. A vicious cycle.

I could always use Root Explorer to apply it, right? If so where's the file located originally?
 
FWIW, the "battery fix" doesn't really increase the battery life that I have seen. I've read it just changes the reporting so that it reports correctly but some people are having different results. I use my phone heavily when at work and I still drain about 10%/hr before and after the fix was put in place.
