Eris to v2.x, when?

It would be pretty amusing to add up up how many different rumors have been posted here on this topic ... and how mutually inconsistent they all are.

And of course, at best -- all but one of them are complete fabrications! We just don't know which one yet. :)

Back to grammar: certainty would have been a better word than absolution. Let's not lose sight of what is important in this thread, right, rigamrts?

Oh boy, an update?

LOL! That cracked me up! :D

They have to know that a lot of people will be screaming bloody murder if we end up with anything less than 2.1. Fingers crossed...

I had a weird dream last night. I had a 95MB package delivered to my phone. I was like "Is this 2.1?". I started downloading it and that was the end of the dream..lol

As an amateur photographer, I like to import photos to the Eris and share with friends. We have chosen to stay with Verizon, so Eris is the iPhone compromise (and it has some nicer features as well). My photos look are pretty decent (I use a Nikon DSLR), but they look awful on the Eris...especially compared to my first gen iPod Touch. Is it the Eris' screen's limitations or are there better ways to import photos or Eris apps that might help?

An interesting, important question about the Eris.

I'm just wondering why it is posted in this thread.

I apologize...I have not been able to figure out how to initiate a new thread and searched the topic on multiple Android sites - without finding anything more closely related. If you know of a better place to place this concern, I will appreciate your suggestions!

Just thought I'd throw another rumor into the fire, but I heard that by the time 2.1 comes out for the Eris
(or supposedly comes out) which is sometime in late-March, 2.2 may already be out. Rumor has it, Google employees with Nexus Ones are running 2.2 as we speak.

Just thought I'd share it. It kinda makes sense that they stagger the Eris from the top-end Android phones as far as OS versions go. Not sure what 2.2 is (supposedly) going to contain, but it's interesting.

It appears to be worthy of a new thread, Dr. Dave. ;)

I just had a thought. What if Google is planning a 2.1 commercial during the Superbowl. Then after the Superbowl, we get the 2.1 update.
I know I know but a guy can dream can't he?

Heh ... that would be fun, but it sure ain't gonna happen. We have to remember that people who haunt threads like this are mostly on the geek fringe. It would probably be a fairly safe bet to say that 90% of Eris owners have absolutely no idea what version of the OS is on their phone -- and they don't really care, either. So Verizon isn't going to spend a giant pile of money to bring the subject up.

If you start a new thread, I will give you some guidance.

It might be the resolution. keep it at 300 dpi in a 4x6 format. There is plenty of space to import a large number of images. As s professional Photographer I keep images on my for business purposes. They look great.
