Two questions about TapFish

Hi all - I only found this forum a few days ago and was very happy to see other TapFish fans out there. I thought I was the only one that was a bit obsessed with this app. since I installed it prior to May.
I finally decided to register earlier because for the last day or so, my breedable fish were missing - I was even told I couldn't breed any fish because I didn't have any breedable fish, meanwhile of course, I have a tank full of 20 breadables. As has been my day, in the course of registering, my game updated and all my fishes were accounted for and no longer missing. I will definitely sleep better because of this.

For the record, I am female and I just reached level 19 earlier. My tp name is the same as it appears here - Tag22Twelve.

Browsing through this thread i was wondering 1 thing though, are there any people like me who actually play tapfish legit instead of hacking/rooting it and running around with a gazzilion bucks and the likes? :p

lvl 61 here, slowly filling my skunk pink clown tank =D

Yes, I am a non-rooted player and am at level 53. Unfortunately I have had to spend a little real money to get this far - I have a ton of apps on my phone and TF is the only one I've spent money on apart from Audible, which its different..

and dont get me wrong, i spend some money on bucks aswell but mostly to support the game and their makers, seeing how many hours they kept me "off the street" playing tapfish.

but there is a huge difference in having 300/500 bucks and an unlimited amount of them =p but good to see there are some people who stick with the program after all!

I agree that the developers deserve to get paid for their efforts but I think that the game is way overpriced. When not on sale, you get approximately 10 bucks per $ 1.00 and most fish cost over 30 or 40 bucks, many around 70. The backgrounds are ridiculously expensive. I have spent $40 and also received a windfall when I signed up with netflix. I have all the breedables but not many of the big-bucks non breedables and havebought only one background. I think if it were priced more reasonably more people would be encouraged to play the game and buy stuff and the developers could actually end up making more money. Those who root their phones and play with the files are going to do so anyway.:p I've been tempted to but am too worried about killing my phone!
 
By the way, I got an automatic update today but don't see anything different. Anyone know what that was all about? Maybe they were just late on the last auto update and it kicked in even though I had already updated manually?
 
Well, I'm level 45 naturally level 80 rooted. I spent about $80 USD on the app buuut got tired of that. Now I just make tanks for show mostly as visuals to any advice I might give and breeds. I hate to do this but I'm gonna go wifi and restore, and just flush everything. I only have twenty tanks to make so I should be operational in no time.

Hi, Im new to this forum, But Im having an awful time with this game. I have at least 15 breedable fish, and when i go to the breed tank it tells me I have none, and suggests I buy them. Ive been breeding for a long while now, can anyone help me? I spent my small amount of fishbucks on some of the breedable fish and dont have enough to replace them. This just started a few days ago. Anyone else having the same problem??
 
I got past level 60 before I broke down and edited the files to jump to level 80. If I hadn't, I probably would've just given up on the game, as I was getting tired of the monotony of selling 50+ tanks worth of green snappers multiple times a day.
 
Weird, I guess I'm not my own friend anymore, since I tried getting coins and xp again today and did not receive any :( I wonder if the devs hang out around the forums. Oh well. I don't like cheating anyway.

Btw I'm at level 49 now, almost 50! It's taking do long to get to 50 agghj. I can see why other people would root it. Id do it too, just to see the variety of off breeds.

Welcome, Gummy!

I'd recommend you contact the developers about your problem (tap the menu button, and select About TapFish). I've had most of my problems resolved within a couple of days, such as not receiving the free fishbucks for downloading something.

I was not allowed to befriend myself. I then thought I'd be crafty and changed my fish name to DroidRos instead of TapRos, and tried to add TapRos, but it told me TapRos didn't exist. So I'm back to TapRos.
 
I feel better knowing that others have also spent real money on this game, including those of you who have decided to root. While I can afford it, I think that $40 is a LOT to spend on a casual phone app and I don't like the idea that others might have spent money that they really can't afford or have just given up.

It's pretty hard to get anywhere without spending significant money. I've downloaded all the free offers except the ones that I know I definitely don't want -- and have come across some really bad ones, such as Blonde Jokes and Predict Your Baby, which are nothing but scams where if you're not careful will sign you up for an automatic $10/month subscription. On the other hand, I've found a few keepers, such as Froggy Jump, which is really silly but quite addiciting, and Mobile Wiki, a pretty good app.
 
I mean, would it show up on your phone bill? How would you know which apps do that? I hope I didn't accidentally download any..
 
It gives you a screen with fine print and a big Continue button. The fine print tells you that by clicking Continue you agree to be charged $9.95 a month to your phone bill! Even if you don't press Continue, you get text messages (and it's not obvious where they I caoming from) with stupid jokes or riddles. I called Verizon Wireless and asked them what to do, and they say to send a text message back with "unsubscribe all." I didn't get charged the $9.95, but was charged for the text messages.
 
I rooted, and I rooted because of Tapfish, but I haven't tinkered with the files.

I just wanted to use Link2sd, and you have to be rooted to use the app.

Also Root Explorer. When Tapfish (or any Android app) crashes, it makes a file called a tombstone. Some tombstones are massive, and take up space on your phone's internal memory. With Root Explorer, you just click on Data, then Tombstones, long press on a tombstone file, hit delete and it is gone. First time I did it, I think I got 20m back.

But my points, level and money are there from raising breeding and selling.

I try to only buy fishbucks when they are on sale. Maybe they will have a nice sale next weekend.
 
Well, I rooted well before I started playing and had both root explorer and sqlite editor. To be honest, I did it all to pop stock apps or bloatware and over/underclock my phone as needed. Naturally underclocking to save battery life. Also vmheap works well with tapfish ;}

I had the exact same probelm until an update was installed - and it corrected itself. I hope it corrects for you as well.
 
Droidros thanks for the welcome.

Like you, I have promised myself that I won't spend more than $20 on this app. I have been very selective about how I spend my bucks. I have not manipulated the game in any way - it is fun as it is and I keep interested with the challenge of trying to breed as many fish as possible.

You mentioned an update, I think that update corrected my missing breedables and I have not noticed any other differences.

I can see them, Mindbenda.

The first one is barbs, the second is LTC and there are bunches and bunches of tanks =).

Is that the right one? AntarRSB?
