Root How to install ICARUS 1.1 by Isaacj87

I just want to thank everyone involved in the making and posting of Icarus. After a few failed attempts I have successfully installed it on my rooted Huawei Ascend from Cricket and its like having a new phone. Wonderful. However, in my eagerness to finish, I batch restored my apps BEFORE I did the apps2sd terminal commands. App2sd now shows in Titanium but when I entered the command prompts it said things like apps2sd may not work and never showed that it was successful. I'm not sure apps2sd is even working for me. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. Or do I have to uninstall my apps, THEN do terminal commands, THEN batch restore my apps? Any help would be appreciated. first i would like to thank everyone involved in the rom for metropcs with icarus..

i flashed my first M860 and worked great..

now the second.. failed at the backup part.. at the cache portion.. so i dont know how to pass it.. and before that it went through but crashed when i was doing the first wipe and crashed at the cache part. so i did the stock rom agian.. so i dont know what has happened. please help
i have tried quite a few times.. and re flashed back to metro stock rom.. but i dont understand why it wont work on this phone i just did the whole thing on another mins before i restarted computer incase of conflicit.. but im not sure what to do.. or is there another open.. it seems to me the clockworks is crashing or conflicting.. please help me

Well just to let anyone know viewing this forum i re rooted my other m860 and then reinstalled CWM and icarus 1.1 and it worked fine...

But can anyone tell me why my m860 metropcs phones just decides to restart on its own? it does it on the Icarus 1.1 , and CM7 Mod...

might be your battery, but also depends on what build of cm7 you install and also check the gold plates on the battery and make sure there is no gunk on them, if so use a cotton swap and alcohol to clean it off.

thanks that worked.. also worked out the other issue. last one and it seems no one has a idea maybe you do or anyone else.. on any of the CM7 mods both phones have a low lvl ring constant and wont stop.. any idea what it is.. or how to stop it?....

if not is there any other mod for the M860 Ascend for Metropcs phones besides the icarus or CM mods?

I finally got Icarus installed and I really like it. :) Thanks everyone. :) :)

Edit: PlayFul, let me know if you ever get your 2.2 mod running for Cricket, I'd really like to have it. :)

Haha. Thanks. But I'm so happy I finally got Icarus running that I think I'll keep it for awhile. It's very nice. Not as pretty as CM7, but much faster and much more stable. CM7 was giving me some issues with lag and the random "SD card has been unexpectedly removed" from App2sd. But I'm happy now. This really is how the phone should've been instead.

faster? naaa, lol but if you want something better than icarus and more stable than cm7 than go with cm6...icarus is only clock to 600 andcm6 is clock to 710...;)
 
Thanks for this tutorial. Went from CM7 to this just to try it out, and i actually liked this better because there are no bugs. Thanks Isaacj87!

Might have gotten a corrupted or incomplete download. Delete it and try downloading it again and make sure the file is the right size.
 
When I do this following all steps ( besides using adb reboot recovery instead of holding stoopid buttons) i get into clockwork mod v2.5.1.8 when I click the first step in there which is wipe factory reset phone freezes on formatting cache any ideals
 
Just stuck on formatting cache for 15 mins now so I pulled battery phone looks wiped so i rebooted again in clockwork then clicked wipe cache now its stuck there whats going on anyone know
