Somethings fishy about this new kernel. My POS is running 922mhz stable... yet my quadrant scores are 900
Yeah this kernel has to be bunk. No way my phone that could hardly run 728 stable is running at 922mhz stable. And there is no performance increase.

When I overclock from stock 600 to 728 with other kernels, there is a big difference. Not just in benchmarks, but in apps, animations, ect. 922mhz on this kernel feels no faster than 728 on another, and the benchmarks are even lower than it feels.
Why would running a lower voltage make a higher clock speed stable? When I undervolt my pc my maximum stable clock is lowered, why would a phone be different?

I cant explain it lol, just telling you what I did. Its looking ike the previous cpufreqs are gonna be revert back as I been playing with em all day long and the BM's arent any better.
On my DX if I use a low voltage profile I can run it at a higher speed with lower temps. But like you said the performance isnt better.
So what about overvolting?

Thats how it was done b4. Overvolting generally makes it run higher temps and has a greater risk of damage.
I'm saying what about overvolting this phone now. This isn't an old way-new way thing. Undervolting saves juice, lowers temps, overvolting eats juice, raises temps, but increases performance. Is it possible to compile an OV kernel for this phone?

Anything is possible lol, but all attempts thus far havent netted any better results. If you are talking about an Optimus V, then no, its a lil diff, but the same oc settings are used in it has reppard, Bob, and myself are using.
I was just bored n playing with the acpuclock, and got the cpu speed higher by using lower voltage. And as we see, the performance went down too, so I have reverted back to previous settings.

Think that might be a firstboot thing, will have to check. You should be able to move em in a2sdgui too or via the terminal.
By OV I meant overvolted. I want to see a kernel with +.25v vcore...
UV would be nice too for battery life. But I have one of the crap phones that only handles 728 and I really think a little more voltage might do the trick.

Yeah Ill give it a whirlski. One more thing, I noticed reading the changelog that you applied like the kernel and mms fix, so does that make it pointless to download them, are they already on your latest build?

The new kernel has the inverted camera fix (as its something compiled in the kernel) and will be in my next build, whenever kernel.org gets fixed. not really needed unless ya need ya camera fixed. The mms fix in in with the build, but some seem to say it doesnt work and others say it does lol, hard for me to test as I dont have service on my Optimus.

Everything so far is working great, especially with the new fix for the inverted camera, but I have noticed a small bug with the Android Market. Market thinks my phone is a LG-LW690, it should be a LG-MS690 and this causes some apps to not install making them think the phone isn't compatible. For instance the NFL '11 app I know works on the Optimus M because I had it installed on the phone before I flashed CM7, now it can't find the app in the Market and when I go to the Market on my PC it shows my phone listed as the LG-LW690 and it's grayed out.
I tried editing the build.prop file, replacing all the "LW"s with "MS" but it still isn't working. Is their some other file that "tells" the Market what phone I'm using?

Everything in that build should be MS690, unless I got em mixed some how. But the build.prop determines all what the market sees the phones as, tho they are the same phone hardware wise. Look for the following in the build.prop:
ro.com.google.clientidbase=
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=
and edit to read:
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-metropcs-us
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=MetroPCS
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=311660
I'll make sure its correct in next build, sorry for the mix up.
I tried adding the Swype.apk from the stock rom and from another source and all it would do is FC. You might try the swype beta out.

As PG above me said, try signing up for the beta. That's how I got it; I signed up for the beta and they sent me a link to dl the swype installer. That then downloaded and installed swype. Be careful though, I don't know what browser you're using, but skyfire doesn't work well for downloading the installer. If you still have the metro browser, or the Google one that's in the CM7 ROM, those will work. When you sign up, you'll get an email with a link to download the installer.
