Yeah, me to. Who knows what this Unicorn will look like but hopefully, we will know on the 11th.

Well it's not necessarily real just yet. These have been faked before. Something that makes me pause is that it's referred to as the Nexus Prime.

It's already been said that somebody started that name not based on any actual facts other than labeling it as the next Nexus device. So why is it labeled as the Nexus Prime?

Or maybe I missed the memo that said it was in fact going to be called the Nexus Prime?

This thread is entirely too huge for me now. I can't keep up. Probably not going to read in here anymore. ....aka a few "new" threads would be awesome. ...if the Mods are ok with that aka Steven58...something good grief this thread is busy
 
This thread is epic trophy :) I like the "atmosphere" and with the lack of any real info there's no use in posting redundant things. The OP reflects anything news worthy as well (which is far and few between)

In other words you havent missed anything important :)

HAHAH funny you say that I have been lurking in this thread for a long time now and i said to myself this afternoon......this is the most epic thread ever it just will not die, and there's so many people quoting so many things i can't follow it anymore either lol.

it could actually be the Nexus Prime. i had accepted the proposition that the Prime name was just conjured up, as misdirection. the Nexus Prime name was used in that cease and desist letter sent to p3droid by Sammy's lawyers. then it came out that the use of the Nexus Prime name in that letter was just misdirection, taking us away from the true name of the device. well, maybe the claim of misdirection was the misdirection - ie, they claimed the Nexus Prime name wasn't real, so that we would think it wasn't real, when in fact it is real. ya follow...?!? :confused:

another possibility is that vzw is just using this as a placeholder in its CelleBrite system (kind of like how names are used for placeholder in website support pages) because Google hasn't released/disclosed the name yet - Google is keeping it quiet until the Oct 11 event. given the tight wraps this thing has been under, it's not so far fetched.

or, maybe vzw is so used to its CelleBrite info being leaked that they've now started using phony names - ie, the "silly games" scenario. i would imagine that the only necessary info in CelleBrite is the model number, and that the name given the device is just a superfluous descriptor.

i still think it'll end up being the Galaxy Nexus - but wth do i know!?!
 
I like your thinking Husker. It all sounds reasonable to me. I mean, we are obviously seeing things done differently based on the fact that we know so little about this phone so close to a presumably official announcement.
 
I was all about the HTC Vigor up until 5 mintues ago. Now I'm wrestling with the Nexus Prime. So many great choices coming out soon! This is why I always tell everyone to wait!
