Root Help with Gmail Sync on CM7

Hi All,

I'm going to apologize up front since I'm a relative noob to rooting and roms and the like. I've got CM7 running on my nook color as well, but that went off without a hitch. :)

I've got the most recent stable build of CM7 with gapps up and running on my evo right now--got Market up and running, but I'm having trouble with Gmail. When I go to Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account, there is no option there for Gmail (but I do have my google sync, and that seems to be working just fine). I can get my email out of the Gmail app just fine, but I'm not getting push notifications. I've tried clear data under the Gmail application tab, as well as wiping data from Titanium Backup, but still no option to sync my Gmail account.

Not sure if there's anything I can do at this point, or if I just need to reflash gapps (is that an option?). Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

maybe instead of reflashing gapps just uninstall the gmail app and remove it from the gapps (if memory serves me correctly its in /data/apps) zip file and put it on sd card and install from es or astro or even root explorer then see if that will work.
