Well I just got news from appy-geek that it looks like Sprint will be getting the iPhone 5 exclusively...WTH...I was hoping to get the Nexus Prime! I guess tomorrow will will know for sure. If this is the case, I'll just get the epic Touch...and sit here jealous of you Verizon folk :/

Very interesting. WSJ is pretty reliable and the way it's explained certainly sounds plausible...LTE iPhone next year? Makes sense to me...read on:

edit: link already posted because I phailed to R E A D

I personally like TW 4.0. It's not intrusive and adds a little flavor. The reason I'd like to see Vanilla ICS is to get a taste of what it's really like. Perhaps ICS won't look Vanilla at all. It may have some "flavor" so to speak. Either way, the UI is not even a concern. If it's TW 4.0 I'll just have to wait a bit to try the "vanilla" variety. If it's "vanilla" I'll just have to wait a bit to use TW.

As far as TW using up resources even if you run a launcher. Yes it will. It's still running "underneath" the launcher.

I wouldn't worry though. If the Prime is anything like the SGSII you will LOVE it. The SGSII is like butter. Go to Sprint and check it out. You will be tempted to purchase it right then and there :) SGSII is hands down the best Android phone I have ever sampled. Nothing compares to it in my honest opinion.

Samsung has become my favorite manufacturer at this time

besides, with 1 gb ram, a launcher isn't going to take up enough ram to cause a noticeable change in performance. if it does, then that UI should be tossed, anyway.

I have both PDANet and wifi tether, and I'm terrified to use either one! Considering that (a) I'm grandfathered in to unlimited data for $9.95 a month; and (b) Verizon would just LOVE to find an excuse to terminate me, there is NO WAY I would tether unless it was a life-threatening emergency or something. . . .

agreed. I have wifi tether but never use it. Don

An off topic post of sorts for people "worried" that Motorola will be shown favoritism with Google.

This from Eric Schmidt by way of Gizmodo:

“The Android ecosystem is the No. 1 priority, and that we won’t do anything with Motorola, or anybody else by the way, that would screw up the dynamics of that industry,” Schmidt said. “We need strong, hard competition among all the Android players. We won’t play favorites in the way people are concerned about.”

Part of this whole upgrade thing is the Nexus Prime running 4G. Another part is replacing our 12-year old entertainment center with all new HD 3D stuff... including the Dish VIP922 HD receiver, that allows smartphones to watch any subscribed channel, anywhere, anytime. PLUS anything on the DVR! So I'm gonna be Gigging like crazy on my phone watching TV! :D

I can hardly wait, too! November cannot get here fast enough!

well, now i'm screwed! i was all set to get my wife the iP5 for her b-day next month (cuz she just wants one). now i actually gotta think, and be creative and thoughtful - yet another reason to hate Apple!!

This could have some interesting implications. Could also explain why verizon is willing to allow a Nexus phone on their network. And why Samsung is being so close lipped to compete with the iPhone.

Because we will come. Folks from other carriers will migrate. It will be a good business decision if they do it. But will they?

I maybe wrong but I don't think verizon prime will have TW on it. It will probably have typical verizon bloatwares though. But I don't think Sammy has already developed new TW for ICS. I heard that they will put even better new TW 5.0 on ICS devices from next year.

Every time I read something in this massive thread and want to post a reply to something, I go back and through like the last 10-15 posts just to make sure I didn't miss anything! lol
hahahaha yeah and I usually do that and what happens when I don't? Without fail it's already been posted LOL!!

I am as you are grandfathered in and have been using the apps you hesitate to use at will and have no issues ....... yet. I never get near the 1GB mark though.

Dont tell me this...I'm an implusive buyer!!! lol I'm doing my best to wait until October 11th and praying the Prime may see the light of day on Sprint. But if they have the exclusive on the iPhone5, they probably wont...:( I think this is a giant mistake on Sprints part as Androids are slowly but surely taking over the market.

t-minus 8 days and counting...if I cant get the Prime the GS2 is mine for the taking :D (not really a gloat as i want the Prime lol)

Interesting, I haven't looked through latest news on iPhone yet. So this means Verizon is not getting iPhone5 but only iPhone4S? This might explain why verizon sided with samsung on the lawsuits and getting Nexus Prime.

we need a governor on this thread, to slow the speed of posts. LOL

Shoot! I didn't realize the same BGR report was posted before, thinking it was WSJ one. This thread is already going at light speed indeed. Probably faster than light speed once Prime becomes available.

i don't care - i was just razzing you a little. i mainly pointed it out just to demonstrate how fast this thread is moving - and all without more than a shred of reliable info. just epic and awesome and funny, all at the same time - great stuff!!

i think once it releases, the root subforum is going to crash the server...

Just putting this out there what if this twenty billion dollar deal has Apple investing in sprint network upgrade.
