Help LG Esteem Root

I was wondering if anyone figured out a way to root the lg esteem and so can you use the admire root on the lg esteem?:)
 
I tried Gingerbreak dont work all I want is to change my prl to 3023 on the indulge 3g is fast but with the esteem it would be cool to run 3g and 4g.
 
I use qpst its the fastest once you get it set up imo and there's some pretty good guides for it on the forum :P
 
QPST doesn't seem to work with the Esteem. The software doesn't recognized the phone fully. It can read my phone number but not the model of the phone, so then it gives an error.
 
Thanks guys yah I hope someone roots the esteem before I get it. I try to figure it out my self and if I do root the phone Ill post methods on forums

Maybe it has to be added to the program since it's a new phone, but I'm not sure :)

Try this
If you can check about ability to get into a) fastboot and b) recovery and let me know where it gets you that would be awesome!

How to:
Fastboot
1) Power off
2) Press and hold both volume up and volume down
3) While holding those press and hold the power button
4) Hold both thru the LG splash screen

Recovery
1) Power off
2) Press and hold volume down
3) While holding that, press and hold the power button
4) Hold both thru the LG splash screen

##lgservicemenu does that work I had tried that did nothing I got cdmaws doesnt read the phone is there a way for the phone switch pda to modem like the indulge

I'm Silvist good Friend (and metropcs employee), Just for ref. :)

As far as the ROOT and/or bloatware removal..nothing yet.

For the PRL update for 2023 for Evdo 3G data speeds, is being push out as of right now, by the tech's OTA. They're doing roll outs and testing the servers. Once they have finished their testing is specific areas, then they will have the option open through *228 (update roaming list (prl) ).

So hang tight and it will be available to all with a supported Evdo 3G device.
