Sorry guys, I was at the allergist's this morning and didn't pay attention to this thread and it got out of hand. I'll take responsibility for that and will sincerely apologize.

We're all friends here. We have a little family-type community. That's why if anyone attacks another person, here, I'm going to get pretty pro-active to preserve the safety of our environment. It's also in the rules.

If anyone attacks another member, in this thread, I will be acting swiftly and strongly. I want to protect our positive atmosphere.

they mention the same specs as BGR does...

damn you google... how can your flagship only have an omap 4460 clocked @ 1.2GHz and a 1700mAh battery...

this definitely gonna suck, compared to the already existing Galaxy SII...

it's nothing new (except the screen & ICS), no great combination, nothing "BIG" (except the screen), no "Gaming and Entertainment Enthusiast" and really no iPhone 4s-killer (yeah again except the screen)...

the only new, good thing are ICS and the 720p screen, but there'll be many phones with 720p screen and better hardware, like the HTC Vigor, the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE HD, the new LG-one with 720 AH-IPS display technology...

damn it, both of you, google and samsung, you'll better fix this and come with better (hopefully the gsmarena-listed) hardware when announcing it!

so much hype, such a long waiting time without any specific specs, WE DESERVE A BEAST!


(im not 100% serious about this, but im still disappointed and kinda angry)

oh and btw, do you guys still buy it with the lower specs? i definitely won't..


i still hope those lower specs aren't for real... this just cannot be truth and i still don't know who to believe in... many 'sources' say 1.2GHz omap 4460, our vz_wired guy here says thats not correct, and GSMArena has the only good specs listed, but is the only 'source' for that, and all the other website don't support them...

From the look of that video I agree with this 100%. I wouldn't get the phone if it acted like this if/when I tested it. My next phone will have NO MORE HESITATION!!

S'OK I guess. As an "End of Waiting" veteran I'll just hunker down. Might as well, they have us pinned down considering the other choices or alternatives.
 
I think I will take this as an opportunity for us to see just what we want. That's what I will remain hopeful for.

I do hope this thread doesnt get overcome with arguing, though. Its been a great run in here. Lets keep each other going until the 27th.
 
You know, if it wasn't for the huge silence on the Vigor front recently, I'd probably be tempted to go that route. I just want to put an end to the waiting and speculating. I want an awesome phone in my hand right now and dump this OG Droid (and yes, it's been a wonderful ride, my friend) in the middle of Lake Michigan!

i think it's more than a little odd that the date has been rescheduled for 10/27. just a week or so ago, it was rumored that the phone might release on the 27th. i'm thinking they have known for a while that they were going to delay. just a thought...

i don't want to get flamed, but a little delay would be ok with me. i made a promise to myself that i wouldn't make a purchase until the Moto Spyder came out. after spending a few days in this thread, i can pretty certainly say that waiting a month or more for the Spyder, while the Nexus was already out, would have been the longest month of my life. i need there to be less time between Nexus release and Spyder release... ;)

omap 4460 clocked @ 1.2GHz does definitely not beat the spec of every phone on the market...

the samsung galaxy s2's exynos processor (2x 1,2GHz, too) is way better than the omap 4460...

as well as the new Qualcomm SoCs (2x 1,5GHz) are... the new Soc used in the T-Mobile SGS2 even beats the exynos 4210 (of the sgs2)


exynos processors are still the best CPUs out there... and the Mali 400MP4-GPU of the exynos 4210 is high above the benchmark-scores of the PowerVr SGX540 used in the omap 4430... so the sgx540 of the omap 4460 is going to be clocked a bit higher, but still it's not better or equal to the exynos 4210 chipset...

only disadvantage of the 4210 is the lack of LTE support, but the 4212 got fixed on that and also comes along more cpu-power, 50% higher GPU (3D)-Performance and also 30% less power consumption...

FWIW I believe the original launch date was October 27, and if P3 is saying that the launch date hasn't changed then this makes sense.

Wouldn't it be sweet to be able to buy it the day it's announced??

Possibly. We've also been hearing an October 27 release date, which most of us (me, anyway) kind of put into the "too good to be true" category. But it's possible that this Oct. 27 date was set in stone a while ago, for a true launch/release, and maybe the postponed announcement date hasn't been given to us yet.

Edit: Oct. 27 is a Thursday, so. . .here's hoping.
