Some guy at PC mag is tweeting (and retweeted by Phil from AC):

Samsung spokesman Kim Titus says there will be no Samsung event on October 27th in London.

Who the heck knows what's going on anymore. I feel like a hamster that some cruel jerk put inside a tin can, sealed it, poked holes in it for me to breathe, and rolled me down a hill.

Now Samsung and Google are saying:

"“We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing." - AllThingsD

Ok, but 20 days? I don't think so. I think the Verizon announcement will still come before then. Maybe after next week. Hopefully.

The device leaked in the video looked less appealing than the previous leaked pics. Phone looked plasticky and the bezels were too big. Not to mention the lag, which i assume is the main reason they delayed. But then again when we look at everything we have well....we have nothing

I can't help but get the feeling that there are many posters in this thread that are either a) really young b) incredibly immature or c) both. So many people come off that it is the end of the world that the device is delayed. It is only a phone after all. You'll all survive the extra couple of days/weeks without it.

Yeah? Well, you left off d) tired of dealing with an incredibly inept HTC Thunderbolt. Not sure the reasoning for the blast, though.

I'm going to go with choice D.
This phone (tbolt) has TERRIBLE data connectivity, battery life, and my texts always get sent to the wrong person!

these guys are putting me in a bad mood...oh wait too late but still...this thread has been very civil and enjoyable for most of us. Please stop with the petty crap. Thanks and enjoy the rest of this Nexusless day.

Millinium, sorry for my part in that.

My point was to both sides of the argument. We have not seen either one of these processor's and they are on different OS's which makes it impossible to realistically compare them. moot point.

While I'd love to continue this discussion, after the recent contretemps this just isn't the time and place. :(

Yes please do. Over 3800 posts in this thread and you are the only one to cause problems and continue to do so.

No, TVP please don't leave. Some of us get pissy occasionally, but we pretty quickly get back into the eager mood of looking forward to the release of the damn phone already!

Guys, take it easy. There's no need to go all out on him. Let's keep this place as welcoming as always.

Take it easy TVP. Whatever's happened aside, you're always welcome here. I've been here over 2 years (and lurked before that) and this is, easily, the most friendly Android forum around.

Agreed.

May it's soul rest in peace :(

Thanks, I just made the ins claim for a Saturday delivery. I am an investigator and cannot be without. They tried to get me to upgrade but no way.

So.......... $99.99 in the hole. My lick the Prime will release Monday eh?

I feel the exact same way. I'm starting to spiral, guys.

who cares about the software buttons? If Spyder and Vigor are full HD screens at least 4.5", that's great. They'll get ICS eventually.

And wasn't the Bionic at least somewhat attractive?

It would be sooo easy to just get in my car and drive the 5 minutes to my friendly Verizon store and start playing with it.

Just a little.
Weak sauce right here.

I figured they were doing this out of respect for Jobs. I agree with it and applaud it. Honor is a good thing in our society.

Please don't let Doom and Gloom set in.
Maybe Verizon will give us Forum members a free extended batty on launch day.

I think it is very possible that the phone leaked in the video this morning, which was in Germany I believe, is the Galaxy Nexus. Same specs that Kellex at Droid-life claims and the same specs that Boy Genius Report claim. Now...hang with me...the phone found in Verizon's Cellebrite system, with model number SCH-i515 and is labeled "Nexus Prime" is, in fact, the Nexus Prime which will have the specs that GSM Arena and VZ_Wired claim. That phone leaked in the video this morning is the "rest of the world" version of the next Nexus, and Verizon is getting something special that we'll all "really enjoy" or will make us "very happy" as some of these insiders have been saying. Something is afoot. I still believe it. Verizon held out for something unique and special. I truly believe that. I may very well be wrong, but I still believe that. VZ_Wired said yesterday that four things were wrong with the specs released by Droid-Life and BGR, but the leaked video this morning confirm the specs from Droid-Life and BGR. So...which one is it? It makes sense to me that BGR has a source that has access to the "rest of the world" Nexus and VZ_Wired and others have knowledge of the Nexus for Verizon. The names are all confusing, but the fact that there are two different phones just keeps echoing in my head. Maybe there's just one though, who really knows at this point. Just a theory. haha

Good points, Thanks for the reality check..

Just thought I'd point out we are quickly approaching the 4k posts mark at the rate we are going today I wouldn't be surprised if it happens sometime today.

I like my tbolt. Never had any issues with data or texts. i do wish i do wish the battery was better, though.

Everyone should just take a couple weeks break from this thread. no more posting. I for some reason really want this phone. Maybe mainly because i love bigger screens. I'm hoping its only a fraction bigger than the tbolt.

I'm Glenn, Age 22, and I survived the Great Nexus Delay of 2011!

I am kinda an optimist. haha Always have been. The fun I find in forums is developing theories and debating specs and such. That's the reason I come here. It's like a big mystery to me, and I try to get to the bottom of what's really going on behind the scenes. I may be TOTALLY off, and probably am, but there is just too much conflicting information for things not to be interesting under the surface. Know what I mean?
