***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Alright guys, and gals...

Since VZ_Wired says that some of us are close, let's try to nail it down. Let's weigh out the details and the rumors and try to get something solid laid out.

First of all, we have to assume that VZ_Wired is legitimately "in the know" about this phone or phone(s). So, let's go ahead and base everything on that. So, that means that him saying that the BGR specs had four things that were wrong, is correct. So, that means that there are two possible other set of specs that are correct, at least for the Verizon version. What are those possible spec lists? One is the one with the Omap 1.5 list and the other is the Exynos 1.5 list. Either of those lists are correct, I'm hoping the Exynos list is the one for Verizon.

I see both his thumb and forefinger flex. One of them is flexing for bracing.

Geez. Has it come to this? Arguing over flexing fingers? :p

really?! NOW you're going to start questioning how pathetic we are?! :D

i still think the thumb flexes harder, like what is needed to activate the power button. my $.02...

Now, as much as I would love to, I cant tell you guys when the exact date the prime will be released. but being an ex Best buy mobile employee I CAN give you a Hint.
motorola-hint-3.jpg

If he's serious.. that's the Motorola QA30.. Oct 30th mayhaps?

If he's not.. that's the Motorola Hint QA30.. get it.. a hint?

EDIT: Oops he already said it was a joke. NOT FUNNY!

^^ this.

Heya Cincy!

Hey Steven! This thread brings back memories. The only difference is I have a smartphone now and I no longer am Jonesing for one like I was when the Dinc first arrived. Getting the Prime (or Vigor) will only be a nice perk but not a life changer like my Dinc was.

My advice, read EVERYTHING you can find, listen to ANYONE that has info about the Prime but believe only about 10% of any of it. It will come when it comes. The rest is pure fun to speculate and gives you bragging rights if your prediction comes true.

Me, I'm on the Vigor/Prime trail. But my pockets aren't burning for either yet.

I don't believe this has been pointed out yet, but I apologize if it has. Still, here's more reason to believe that there are two different Nexus devices. Perhaps one has a skin? Or maybe they just changed the icons between versions? Not sure, but let's feed the hype machine.

The top image is from today's leaked video. The bottom is from a picture that leaked a few days ago.

Yes, but we also have to take into consideration the possibility that the processor speed, and not the type, is incorrect. Meaning OMAP 4460 running at 1.5 instead of 1.2. I would prefer an Exynos, but Verizon being Verizon, I wouldn't have my hopes up.

Ugh. There are just too many posts detailing different opinions that it's impossible to wade through it all.

I'm thinking that the Joe Jackson or Johnston or Jamison or whatever the heck his name is, is correct in saying specs are close to SGSII HD LTE. He was seemingly backed up by Panda, and I put a lot of stock in Panda. Also, CK pointed out that this James Jamison or whatever his name is was going against popular opinion on the Bionic rumors and came out right.

Hey Everyone! New here, first time poster. ;)

Heya newbie. Follow the rules and no one gets hurt! :p

MONTANAAAAA!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Considering that those are software keys, I don't think the difference proves much, if anything.

Yeah, this is a solid point. If there are two devices, I believe the bottom one is ours because the top one was sourced from Germany. As pointed out by someone else, there's no way they'd be testing a CDMA LTE device in Germany, where there is no CDMA.

However, there's also been reports of ICS updating daily. It's very possible that the bottom icons were updated to look like the upper ones.

Although VZ did kind of confirm the legitimacy of the bottom picture soon after it leaked.

Lee Johnston.. he's britishturbo on twitter..

Also, I installed the Google Music 4.0 apk and its very nice.. much snappier than 3.0..

I can't get it to install on my OG droid :(

I had to:

* Clear data
* Clear cache
* Uninstall Music 3.0
* Install Music 4.0
* Start it
* Clear data
* Start Music 4.0

That should get it installed and showing the sync option

Keep hope alive!

EDIT: I was okay with the speculation.. until he said the delay of the CTIA event was to revamp the Nexus Prime to use Exynos instead of OMAP. That's pretty absurd.. you can't just swap out components like that a month before launch. The hardware for the Prime is DONE. There's nothing left but software and confetti before launch.

That isn't to say he's isn't right about in pointing out TI's complaint about the assertion that TI OMAP is the official platform for ICS is not verifiable. I'm just not on board with the logic regarding the CTIA event.

Not one to give up on my theories too easily, I decided to see what the buttons looked like on stock Honeycomb vs. Touchwiz for tablets.

Interestingly, the buttons on Honeycomb are solid, while those on Touchwiz are outlines.

Still, the only house that has a different shape is the outline in Touchwiz for the tablet - the roof extends over the walls.

Again, perhaps I'm making something of nothing, but it's something to discuss.

sry i guess i missed something... the site that postet this Video and the Pic of the nexus prime (the one on the top) was found on a romanian website?

so why you think its from germany? Just wann know, cause im from germany and i didn't found the original source of those on the usual german tech-sites...

Crap... I shall go stand in the corner for 30 minutes :( I honestly figured 4000 had already been reached when I posted that. I now feel as though I let the entire forum down.
Just edit it and fill it with some inspirational celebratory images. We'll forgive you. ;)

* Uninstall Music 3.0
* Install Music 4.0

Did all of the clearing and uninstalling, problem is when it comes to installing it pops up and says "application not installed".

Sorry, I guess I had Germany on the mind, lol. I should have said Romania. ;)
