Everyone imagine with me for a second...

If YOU got to hold the Nexus, the one teased in the "Something Big Is Coming" video from Samsung/Google, and you had a video camera, do you think there is ANY WAY IN HELL you wouldn't video the entire phone? That thing would basically be paper-thin in your hand. Probably the thinnest, most powerful phone with the biggest most beautiful screen you've ever seen, and it's in your hand. You're telling me you wouldn't show off how amazingly thin and beautiful the phone is? OF COURSE YOU WOULDN'T. Neither would these guys taking video and leaking these videos. Why aren't they showing off the rest of the phone, besides just the operating system? Because the phone is a thick piece of junk and is a test device, perhaps. If that phone they are showing on video is extremely thin and gorgeous like the one in the Samsung/Google teaser video, they'd show it off. That leads me to believe that the phone they got on video IS NOT the phone that Google/Samsung is going to announce as "Something Big Is Coming." If that is the phone they're going to announce to usher in Android 4.0, then they need to call the video "Something Blah Is Coming" because that phone in the leaked video is blah, at best. From what I can see.

yeah i don't think that they showed the nexus prime either... and i don't beleive in their (kinda disappointing) specs...

though i like the ICS-appearence, i think the Screen is way too small, im assuming this device has max a 4.3" screen... also i can't see that its curved..

You might be onto something there. . .but that phone looks similar to previous Nexus's, which you would expect, since it's a Nexus, and it's a phone we haven't yet seen since the camera and sensor are in a different place on the front.

Unless it's just one of a few Nexus prototypes that they had before they settled on the sexy one we saw in the ad. . . .

LOVED the new BSG (the original, of course, was cheese...).

Next question: Firefly? (there's only one correct answer here)

That show was gone MUCH too soon. :(

I was getting into SGU as well before that stupid network canceled it.

Congrats on your 100th!

You just articulated what has been bothering me about that vid, but couldn't put my finger on.

The screen was too "level" for what I expected from the profile of the "something big is coming" pic.

my sentiments, exactly. in most vids, we get full views of the device. and i would think that would be particularly true in the case of a phone like this. i think the "old test unit" theory is a pretty good one.

congrats on 100 posts, on the 4200th post!!! karmic... ;)

Even if I HAD the real phone - the babe/beast thin phone - in my hand, no doubt I'd have a Soviet-era non-disclosure agreement in the other, signed by ME. If I video'd that thing or released anything and it got traced back to me? They could sue me, arrest me, maybe take my first-born away to some undisclosed location.

Hey, now THAT'S not a bad scenario right there

But NO WAY would I risk that to assuage a bunch of people on the Interwebs. So I can understand the secrecy, if the NDA is THAT iron-clad.

EDIT: We're already at 4200 posts? When I said 5K by tonight I was joking... but jeez, we might just do it!

Yup, I think the general consensus is that the device is an early prototype and not the final Prime as we know it in the teaser vid. Based on all accounts...THIS WILL BE THE BEST PHONE EVER!!!

Kind of seems like that leaked video is just getting attention due to the timing of the release not because it confirms anything we expected about the device itself.

As I and others have noted, the screen shape looks wrong.

I read this and the 2 updates and after the updates it actually does make more sense. I think he is right, why wouldn't Samsung or Google just come out and say it the first time, we are postponing the event because of Steve Jobs...It does look really fishy now and leads more credit to his "speculation" as he calls it.

Also, I agree with the whole overblown coverage on that picture. People looked into that way to much. So it could still be the Exynos processor, either next gen or I say even an overclocked version. He has another post on there about the whole idea of two devices with similar specs that might be pretty close too. I was browsing the site and noticed he slammed BGR and that jackass Boy Genius, I'm glad someone on the net finally called his bluffs. I think I may just check that site out more often.

Anyway, should be interesting to see what processor ends up in the Nexus when they finally show it off. But I think it's getting an makeover somewhere too. Good find Han!

This might lend credence to the idea that the processor is Exynos and not OMAP.

Here's hoping!

Edit: Although I think the TI lady is blowing smoke up his butt. The picture was of a Texan android holding hands with an ice cream sandwich.

Martz is a joke. Lions got lucky against Dallas last week...well that and Romo is about as consistent as Samsung's CTIA announcement. How's that for back on topic? :)
Lucky? They almost blew the game with those 4 penalties in a row at the end of the game. They beat the Cowboys in a good solid game of football. Lions seem to like to play catch up and the Cowboy game was no difference.

Go DETROIT!!! It's about PRIME!!!!

Agreed. But Romo is one of the most overrated QBs in the league. I'd take about 15 ahead of him. He has choked way too many times. It's a PRIMYING shame having him in there! :p

The 4212 will be seen in other manufacturers in 2012. It will be seen in Samsungs hardware Q4 2011.

If this were Vegas I'd put all my chips on this space :)

Yes well my opinion is mixed in with the fact that I'm a Dallas fan but really 3 interceptions in 11 passes? Two were returned for TD's. That's on Romo they were bad passes not necessarily good D although lions D is good. No doubt lions are at their PRIME

And no way they almost blew the game with the 4 penalties...it was a hail mary pass and Romo doesn't have the arm to throw it nearly as far as they needed

Wooooow, I need to leave the forums immediately!!! I read that and saw "pentile" and was wondering what the heck does "4 pentiles in a row at the end of the game" meant? lol :D

i get the concept of Sammy "hoarding" its own chips for its own uses, and that Sammy devices could have the 4212 before end of the year. BUT, in this scenario, Google was the one who decided the hardware specs, and made that decision quite some time ago (most likely well before even Sammy was comfortable with its 4212). because Google has been calling the shots, and most likely called the processor "shot" a while ago, that's the part that still gives me pause even in the face of the possibility that Sammy could have its own 4212 ready...

Hi everyone. I was out for a while.

@Steven
what's going wrong here? I'm not pleased - you closing THIS THREAD? Noo.. It'd be worse than Google's delay..!
