Root Liquid 3.0 Final Link Up

Weird thing popped up. On all the betas or RCs our gps lock was instant without the sense fix. This release is slow to lock. Anyone confirm?
 
Battery life with Imo 3.8.0 is out of this world. 18.5 hours 58% left. Maybe 3 hours on 4g. GPS and Bluetooth on 100%.

Y5 does not seem to be able to turn the wifi off, so it could be even better.
 
Very odd - I tried flashing this three times and each time it crashed my TB. I wiped everything first each time and and do a clean install it using Clockwork. it would appear to start to work, but had to boot into recovery because the screen would lock up and I couldn't get the menus or settings to come up either. Went to the latest Shift Theory instead.

Maybe it's just my particular phone? I've never had any luck with Liquid ROMs it seems. :confused:

Make sure you are on the latest cwm...there have been changes recently and some roms do not work on the older versions.

No, I'm still on 3.7.1 I was going to flash 3.8.0 today, but now that 3.9.2 is out I'm waiting to hear back more about this zram script before flashing.

edit: zram explanation from Imoseyon - It extends your RAM virtually, in a manner of speaking. In most cases there won't be a huge benefit. If you run a lot of apps and are constantly running low on memory, it will help you. Either way it's fun to play with. ;)
 
Loving 3.0 so far and I love the clean theme it came with. Much better then DT/dhacker's stock theme IMHO. Anyone know if it's possible to disable the lockscreen if the security lock is enabled? DT's roms had this option and I think CM7 does but I can't find it in the Liquid settings.
 
I have it flashed right now, but I had to recharge, etc. Going to do a battery calibration right before bed and let it sit overnight, then see how long it goes tomorrow. My oldest does not have school so we are taking the day off so I will be out and about more than normal, so it will be a good test. I was getting crazy good battery life on 3.8.0--and it looks like he just added the zram thing and CIFS, so hopefully they will not affect battery life much.

What about under liquid settings -> lockscreen -> disable only when secure? (for aghoost)

The zram is hurting me I think. Either I have to reflash Tiamat 1.1.4 or disable it. Tiamat has OC at 1.12 whereas this is minimum 1.22. Darn, just realized I was on InteractiveX instead of smartass V.2. I'll stay with it another day now to make sure. Smartass V2 is awesome on my phone, I just dropped about 10% whereas I'd only go down about 1 or 2 on v2.
 
does 3.0 have the 3g/4g toggle option for the notification bar? i might have to give it a shot if so. couldn't live without it after getting used to it on all of DT's roms.
 
I've been curious about this ROM. Is this just a reworked version of CM7 or is this actually based off AOSP source like CM7 is?
 
As cm7 is stripped Sense, Liquid is stripped cm7. The rom is very fast with some different 'control panel' options. I'm hoping that he will incorporate the cm7 updates as they become available. For instance, the rom got updated with the new lockscreen the same day it was merged. We'll see how that develops. There are some great themes, one of which is Luna by R3Ds that should satisfy your flashing habit.

BTW, Imo 3.9 is very nice on smartass V2.

CM7 isn't stripped sense. CM7 is built from AOSP source from google and doesn't involve HTC. Liquid uses CM7 as a base and builds upon that work. You could try running a senseless rom to see what sense stripped is and how much different from AOSP it is, first thing you will notice would be the actual size of the rom ;) I like liquid's settings more than CM7 settings. The luna theme has been around forever I am glad to see it finally on the bolt.

I think I will be finally getting around to flashing this tonight or tomorrow morning, I will also try out Imo's newest kernel.
