Agreed. But if GSM arena rumor (1.5Ghz Exynos, SGX543 GPU) is true, even GPU benchmark would go to Prime. But I'm pretty sure and excited that we will see very smooth, fast browsing on Prime w/ICS.
Not sure about that, since do we even know the specs of the 4212 yet? Didn't see anything on Samsungs website about actual GPU performance.

Agreed though that whateve does land, it needs to provide a good experience, reguardless of the specs.

I am mostly fearful about the radios/reception. Moto's radios are the cream of the crop, and a great phone isn't very useful to me if it doesn't have reception. Good radio, good screen, good OS and I'm sold.

FWIW, I get very good (seemingly equal to my D2) reception on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, both LTE and 3G. Hard to tell what it might mean when you're not using as an actual phone though I suppose.

Wait! Did Steven somehow get access to EarlyMon's AF account or is there really only one of them/him? :D :p ;) :)

Side note: I've been resisting posting in here due to the sheer volume...I can't keep up with all of the posts, LOL.

Must. Keep. Head. Above. Water (posts) ;).

Cheers all!

On Exynos 4212 announcement, Samsung stated its GPU is 50% faster than older Exynos per same clock and consumes 25% less power. But they didn't say what GPU is in it.

We'll see if I stick around :D

I'll be ordering this Nexus, and I'll play with it for a few weeks. If it's a winner, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'll eat the restocking fee and stick with my Droid X until something else comes out that I like.

Agreed completely.
I've always like Moto's build quality and radios. I've been very critical of some HTC and Samsung devices. However, the GalaxySII seems to have addressed many of the ills that the original line had, like poor radio performance, unacceptable GPS, plastic quality, etc.

We will see.

That's good news. Hopefully they buttoned up the problems with the original SGS GPS, too.

I'm actually mostly concerned about data, not so much voice. My phone is an actual phone only about 10% of the time.

Here we go VZW, give us something. Anything.

Just a wink? A nod?

Edit: Based on what ATT showed, I seriously doubt we will see anything from VZ. Did he just bring up 9/11?

That would be nice. :D

Expect the worst, hope for the best.

1.2GHz OMAP4430 = Worst
1.8GHz Exynos 4212 = Best

Reality, probably somewhere in-between.

Yeah that's what I figured. I've never had an issue with reception on my Tab. And I've used it to watch Netflix (um, while my husband was driving :p) down the Mass Pike.

Also, I used to have a Samsung Omnia, so I *totally* get the plasticy feel thing. My Tab doesn't feel like that- IMO they did a really good job balancing the lightness and thin-ness of it without making it feel cheap. I love that thing. :D It gives me hope for the Prime.

Well, Verizon CEO up next on CTIO, maybe we'll get some kind of hint. :)

i think most are expecting the A5 to be the fastest gpu on the market until the A6. so until we see somebody else use the 543/544, expect it to outperform everything

Yeah, the GPS on my Droid Incredible runs circles around the GPS on my fiance's Epic 4G Touch. That GPS is horrible on that new phone. I honestly can't believe my old Incredible is that much faster. Lately, her GPS won't even lock in and work, but my Incredible gets a lock in about 5 seconds. Samsung definitely needs to get their GPS issues fixed, it's a big letdown. Hopefully the Prime won't have the same issues, because I used Google Maps Navigation ALL THE TIME.

But isn't the Bionic's radio crap? It keeps dropping from 4G to 3G even in high-quality 4G areas.

Or is that software related? I heard they're sending out an update in "November" which I think in Moto-speak means "March".
