That tweet was 100% sarcastic IMO...I really can't read it any other way. I was pleased when I read it because if you are going to be sarcastic about it...it must be good.

Thanks :)

Sweet! Except this isn't a lame ass Cnet Prize Fight with "ring-a-ding-a-ling-tong"...cause we know they would crown the iPhone the champ even if the damn thing failed to even power on! :D

The stakes are pretty high and I hope Google and Samsung see that. It's not just about having a better phone...it's about market share! Apple was going to have big pre-sale numbers, and Apple will have great early sales for the first month REGARDLESS of what the competition looks like. But can Google and Sammy slow em down after the iFans sleep outside and line up around the Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint stores? The Nexus Prime should be the phone that gives average consumers a better option.

One more thing: Galaxy Nexus is a stupid name and I hope that isn't what they call it. Nexus Prime sounds much better! Then I'd run a marketing slogan based on something like "Are you Primed?", "Get Primed!" "It's Primed and Ready!" Galaxy Nexus sounds like the next NASA shuttle. Just my 2 cents :)

Keep posts G rated, please. :)

G is so last decate. Welcome to the 4G world if u Live on Such an AREA !!!

Let's hope the phone is loaded! 16GB storage, no micro sd card expansion and an older OMAP chipset ain't gonna cut it.

First the NO SD SLOT are you crazy you do this if u want to sell 4 different phones with 8/16732/64 GB memory, and reap ppl of.

Second you dont announce that something BIG is comming because the Incoming is a BIG FAILURE, get real !!!!!!

and yes thinking the same KOREA is geting a S2 HD & LTE versions and the rest of the world gets Galaxy Nexus prime aka S2 HD LTE. :o

I was all for this device until the whole no SD card support reveal. Sorry folks but I recently blew a lot of cash on a 32GB class 10 card and I'm not going to get this phone and let that card just sit in a box. Some of you might say who needs all that space blah blah blah use Google music but you fail you realise America isn't the only country in the world, and more often than not Google's love is for the homeland.

Those cards are $58 on Newegg
Just sell it or return it if you paid much more, because even in Europe it wasn't worth what you paid for it.

That wouldn't really solve my problem. I have a lot of music and movies if the the phone is 32GB of storage as rumoured it will be partitioned anyway. Add to the fact that google music is US only (for the time being I'm in the UK.) At best there will probably be 16GB set aside as Storage, I've filled my 16GB card already. There's no point in having a super phone if you feel limited from the first day.

I'll hang around and see what happens but at this point I'll probably end up with the Sensation Xe. Then be annoyed at myself for waiting so long to upgrade.

Good morning Primers! It's a nasty, rainy day outside and I have the day off of work. You know where I'll be
Anyway, I'm still a little concerned about the announcement being in Hong Kong. I can't believe they would announce something there that is supposed to land on Verizon first. If it's going to work out like the SGS2 (which I know is very doubtful), I'll be one sad panda :(

nobody rehosted the picture huh?

and i don't think i saw this posted? you guys must be slacking or something

Exclusive: Details Of The Verizon Galaxy Nexus Ice Cream Sandwich Phone (Sorry, "Prime" Is Not Likely)

At this point, it's pretty clear that we've all been knee deep in Ice Cream Sandwich goodies all week long. We've already given you the Music 4.0.1, Google+ 2.0, and ICS Clock widget APKs, but that's not all - now we have some details regarding the CDMA Verizon Nexus Prime. At least that's what we thought it was called before Google and Samsung decided on the Galaxy Nexus as the final name, according to our reliable source who goes by Geek Vundotra (remember the leaked apps above?).

A few days ago, we heard two variations of very different specs for the Prime: one from BGR, which stated that it should have a 1.2Ghz OMAP processor, LTE, and be exclusive to Verizon; the other came from GSMarena, which stated that the next Nexus (should we call it "Nextus" as one of our readers suggested?) would be packing a monstrous 1.5GHz Exynos and a Power PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. According to our source, one of these is close to reality. The other, however, isn't necessarily wrong, but perhaps talking about a different device altogether. Intrigued? Read on.
According to our source, the first CDMA Galaxy Nexus in the U.S. (which should be Samsung model SCH-i515) will undoubtedly and unsurprisingly indeed have an OMAP processor, LTE, and be exclusive to Verizon, which points to BGR's specs being more accurate. Here are the specs we were able to reliably confirm ourselves so far, independently of BGR or anyone else:

OMAP 4460 processor, which is rated at 1.5GHz (it's unclear if Google will underclock it or not - BGR seemed to think it'll be clocked at 1.2GHz, but our source thinks otherwise). Therefore, we're going to say the processor model is confirmed, pending exact clock speed clarification
32GB internal storage
no SD card slot (like the Nexus S, argh)
LED notification (unlike the Nexus S)
1GB RAM
LTE
NFC
1080p HD recording @30fps
5MP rear camera
possibly some sort of a time lapse feature
Ice Cream Sandwich confirmed as Android 4.0
Internally, the Verizon Nexus is known as Tuna/Tuna 4G (board/model) as well as Toro (product/device)
Galaxy Nexus name
large screen - we all take 4.65 or so for granted, but I wasn't able to confirm the exact size, so I am only including things we know

However, this doesn't mean that GSMarena was wrong. We have reason to believe that those specs are from a completely different device. The device in question may be set to release further down the road, but there is a possibility it is indeed legit.

That's it for now - if more details come to light, we'll be sure to let you know. Specifically, I'd like to know the details of a possible Sprint version, if one is planned, as well as its GSM siblings. I'd also love to confirm the battery size and see all the new apps (especially Gmail - yum!). It won't be too long now before we find out every detail about this highly anticipated device.

I'm not a big fan of no SD card. Not just for expandability but for separate backup too. This isn't a complete buzzkill but it's close.

With my DX, if I wipe the phone, I back up to the card, do a factory reset, clear caches, then restore from the card, all without needing a computer. Unless I'm mistaken, internal memory would be wiped along with the rest of the phone, meaning you have to connect to a computer to pull off the same thing. It makes sense to back up external to the device, but sometimes that's not convenient.

Extending this, when will Google add a full device backup like Apple does? You shouldn't have to root to back up your phone. Just reinstalling apps from the Market, even automatically, is not the same thing. Maybe they'll have something in ICS, but I doubt it. I can't imagine it'll be the panacea some believe it to be. I suspect it'll be decent but underwhelming.

Yeah, it looks like everytime a pic shows up on Picasa it's taken down within hours. Certainly makes it seem legit. (and yeah, I didn't get to see it)

I got my desktop for gaming. I just want a really fast and smoother browser experience, and i believe ICS is going to give that to us regardless of the processor.

The only games I've ever played on my OG Droid are Robo Defense and Angry Birds. Those are probably the only games I will plan on the Prime as well. Like you, I want better browsing performance and no lag. I'm quite sure that's what I'll be getting.

I must admit, if in fact the device does not have an SD card slot this would be enough to push me back on the fence and maybe hop over to the Vigor. I need to have the flexibility and the security of knowing I have that space as backup.

There is a separate storage partition. It is not stored alongside your user data, which is what is wiped when you do a factory reset.

And if the OS and other crap take up as much storage as in the Bionic, you're not going to have anywhere near 32Gb (granted, webtop is a big one). However, for me, I don't store any music or movies on my phone. The 16gig card in my OG was plenty. The only thing that took up a lot of space was all my Nandroids

leave it to samsung to mess up another nexus phone. but whatever. my problem with no sd card and 32gb is mostly that....now we can expect a $299 price from verizon like we did with the bionic. so...amazon wireless, here i come!

So, is this a clue that the the rumors we heard about about a battery we can't can't remove being true? Aren't most SD card slots located in the battery compartments? I know they are in HTC devices. Maybe that's why no SD slot, you can't get to the battery area??
Just a thought
On second though this may not be entirely true because the device will still need a slot for the sim card for 4G??

It's possible that the SIM slides in on the side like the iPhone? No idea, but a non-removable battery would really be a bummer. Also, on the Bionic, you can get to both the SIM and SD Card without removing the battery, not sure how it is on the other LTE phones.

Got you! thanks! I was thinking about my Thunderbolt where both the sd and the sim cards are located under the battery. I can't remember off the top of my head how my wife's charge is set up.

what would be the purpose of having a non removable battery The SD card I really don't care about that much but I like the idea of having a removable battery after being with apple since the 2G-4 and carrying an extension cable and extra batteries

Is this for a fact ?
