It was a pretty last-minute change.
I read a day or so ago on one journalist's site that it's too late to book a flight out.
It's too late to book a flight at a discount, or on your favorite airline.
I don't know what to think about this issue with invitations, with the press focused on CTIA this week.
Press might not like it, but they could easily simulcast the event and put us there.
Google has the muscle and Google/Samsung have the budget to handle this any way they want.
So - I'm not sure that it follows that if there aren't invites, then nothing must be happening or we might not be hearing about it.
Plus - what language will the event be sponsored in? I've been to events in Asia where the native language was spoken, with an interpreter at a second mike tossing English for us Westerners.
There's a lot of smart ways they can create buzz about the handling of the event itself and getting the word out.
I don't know about you, but aren't you a little tired of having to F5 the blogosphere to scrape up some crumbs?
Until now, we've had live events, and then they were reflected on to the web.
And if you think about it, that's like hooking up a motorcycle instead of a horse to your buggy - after all, this is 2000 plus 11 and I think it's about time that the tech industry actually used the web properly.
But - that's just me, I could be wrong. I often am.
