***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Good evening, Nexlings. I trust you're all having a simply wonderful time.

I must admit I was quite excited to see the Galaxy Nexus appear on the Verizon internal database, as reported by the fine men and women at Droid-Life including Kellex, who also makes wonderful tampon products, if I'm not mistaken.

Unfortunately, I am in quite a conundrum. On Tuesday next, the same day as the announcement, I shall be working quite late. Quite late indeed, in preparation for a trial I shall be participating in on the following morning. I shan't bore you with the details, friends, but suffice to say I may in fact be locked in a room full of lawyers and witnesses, taking depositions into the late hours of the night. I'm sure you will be shocked to know that such meetings have dragged on until almost midnight on several occasions!

Needless to say I am quite distressed in view of the fact that, while you fine ladies and gentlemen shall be greedily and sloppily devouring the Hong Kong event live via Youtube stream, I very well might be unable to share in your delight until much later.

This grieves me sorely.

I wanted something today! So, I rooted my freshly 4g updated Xoom just now. That kept me busy for about 30 minutes. Now I am back here again LOL

That's WITH a miserably slow news day and, right at the peak of excitement, apparently VZW hit the AF kill switch for an hour (glad I wasn't here for that - WHEW!). So I can safely project 12,000 posts by the time we get to the announcement... Steven58, what have you wrought here?

Anyway, back to the Prime: I'm a little bummed that there will be no SDcard slot, but I guess if it comes with 32GB onboard I'll feel a little better about the whole thing.

Anything else I missed? :confused:

So sorry to dissapoint, but I have to sleep...I just ducked in for a 5 min update before bed. I will do it tomorrow, or I will just couple it with the 9k post one if that happens.

It's likely not Samsung's decision. It's a Google device, so Google makes design decisions. Someone mentioned earlier Andy Rubin doesn't like SD cards. Given that, I don't think its a coincidence that both this phone and the Nexus S had no SD card slot.

The good news is, this isn't Apple. If one man doesn't like something, it's no big deal, there'll be another device along shortly.

Well I'm going to try and get out by 9:15 at the latest. My last witness deposition is scheduled for 8:15, and she's pretty straight forwards. I may even just tape record it and get to it later.

I've never actually watched one of these events before. I hope it's exciting!

Will it be in English, or translated?

This design looks long and skinny. Dont like to say it but it looks girly in my opinion. Maybe in person it will look better or perhaps its not even it.

I guess I can peek in here on the 18th if they leave me alone long enough. I have a gravy job with a good pay, but the place I work for is nuttier then this thread.:eek:
 
Is anyone familiar with Batman: Year One? I'm thinking of some movies I haven't seen that I want to try out on the Nexus, and I think animated will look really good in HD. I haven't read the story but it's supposed to be good. (Please don't spoil it for me. . I just want to know if it's a good story or not.)

yet its being announced in Hong Kong

and why would the Samsung UK sales director even care about it if it wasn't being release over there ?

something tells me the source is unannounced for a reason

FCC filings can be hidden until a specified date. That's why you never see Apple products go through the FCC.

I can't explain why they would hide the LTE version but not the GSM version though.
