No, the lack of SD was pretty much confirmed. If that's gonna be a deal breaker for you, I would look for a different phone :(

Not sure it's a deal breaker. (never had a phone with that much internal memory before and always needed an SD card). All I know for sure is I'm NOT gonna be storing me personal pics/vids etc. on some hackable cloud. I live on a mountain with no data/reception unless I go to town so that cloud "solution" doesn't apply to me anyways.
Just curious, where was this "pretty much confirmed"?[/QUOTE]

Another option is to use Pogoplug. It requres leaving your PC on (I do anyway so not an issue) but it stream or download content from your PC to your phone, so your data is still secure in your own PC. :) I like it a lot. Doesn't help with the no reception part though- but you can download things from it when you do have reception, then delete them and download different ones when you're done, etc.

Another pro lurker here... Most any of the specs being thrown around will suit me fine although I'd prefer an SD card. Maybe I'll have to mosey over that Google Music invite thread.

What I'm really looking forward to is the software though. ICS needs to be a nice smooth hardware accelerated UI experience and I need to never see "HTC Sense has crashed again" in my life! With no SDK preview though, can we really expect a good experience from many apps before they're updated? All we have is the 'Preparing for handsets' blog post. (Can't post links yet).

I'm sure Google has some great things up their sleeve for ICS in terms of merging Honeycomb and Gingerbread, just hoping they finally nail the UI and I'm not forced to root and install ROM's unless I feel like it. Experience with my HTC Inspire has been ok but I'm really looking forward to a nice speedy vanilla Android phone.

The page you are refering to (Android Developers Blog: Preparing for Handsets) is a good UI practice article for making sure your application's layout is designed so it looks ok on big (tablet, tv) and small screens in mind.

Hardware acceleration is a different story. With honeycomb, 2d acceleration is available. It is not on by default as Google says some widgets won't draw the exact same as with it off. So the developer has to decide if they want it on and deal with any differences. Fortunately it is a one line addition to the manifest xml file, so turning it on takes 2 seconds.

Just saw the article re: some specs for the RAZR.

  • Thinner and “faster than the iPhone 4S”,
  • 1GB of RAM,
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor,
  • 4G LTE, to be the thinnest LTE phone,
  • 4.3-inch screen.
It is also rumored to have outstanding battery life. Personally, the battery life is huge for me. Thinner is gooder. 1.2 might not be the best but it will more than serve my needs. The 4.3 screen could sway me as well, I have a Dinc and really do not want to go a whole lot larger, as awesome as the Prime sounds, 4.65 sounds HUGE. And my experience has been that Moto has better phone signal than Sammy.

So, as awesome as the Prime sounds, the RAZR is making me think. Anyone else having second thoughts?

Tell you what if you have seen pics of it. It is DEFINITELY the thinnest LTE phone I have ever seen. It's VERY thin.

I'm not much of a moto fan anymore. I love the aesthetics of their devices. Nice lines etc etc but their UI, WebTop and ball and chain bootloaders is much to be desired in my opinion.

I'm sure it will be a fantastic phone though. Verizon is pretty excited about it.

Forgive my poor Photoshop skills... ;-)

The SD card thing was confirmed by steven (well, steven's source) a few pages back, I'm too lazy too look for it, but it's also in the OP.
Regarding the file syncing thing, you should check out Dropbox, because it seems to do pretty much what you're describing.

Roosevelt, yes I think I may be a touch evil.

But in all honesty, she can barely text and there are so few 'feature' phones that aren't tiny and crap for an older lady to hold, so I may as well enjoy it and maybe find her something for Christmas on ebay.

mthoren68 -- I'm with you. I'm on the fence, but I always seem to find myself there before some sort of major launch.

Steven58's source confirmed no SD and removable battery a day or so ago (which means about 1,000 posts back, I suppose)

I'm behind. It will or will not have a removable battery? I was relying on being able to upgrade the battery if the life sucks.

Those sound like the specs on my bionic, the phone is plenty quick. No lag in sight but I do have to say this is the worst phone signal I have ever had. Places where my gs1 and thunderbolt would get 4 bars I get 1 or at best 2. I won't bring up the 3g,4g issues;)

I forgot how VZW lets you use another line's upgrade! Now the question is... Do I steal my mom's upgrade or get her a new phone like she wants.... I hate the thought of her getting a smart phone, she won't use the data so it seems like a waste of money after I lost my unlimited. She's 65 and arthritic so I can't see her using one much.

Evil plan formulating!

Your name is very apt :)

It will have a removable battery per 'the source'.

No worries on being behind. It's like a full time job keeping up with this thread. :-)

The cloud is an extreme solution for most users.

There is internal memory that you will be able to store your files on and can access with a USB cable. It is no different than other Android phones, except you can't physically remove SD card.

It really is. I've been frustrated with real life bc its keeping me from this place. Luckily nothing much has happened.

i was reading this guy wouldn't give up his spot first in line for 1500 dollars that is pretty ridiculous

This is going to seem strange coming from someone who has been following this thread of 8,000+ posts, but both offering $1,500 and turning down $1,500 for a place in line is ridiculous. It's just a phone. Wait two weeks, and pick up the same phone without waiting in line.

PS: A friend of mine here in Denver was in and out in 30 minutes this morning. I guess we don't have as many iFanatics here.

The NYC line was also pretty disappointing (esp. compared with last year). I heard an average of a 20-minute wait time.

OfTheDamned has rejoined mod staff (hooray!!!) and we're calling it the Gnex or Galaxus until even people that don't like that will use it, so it's not like it's a total wash. ;) :D

Wait - you meant nothing much has happened in RL.... nvm. :)

Sometimes I go over and check out Androidcentral forums (lord knows why) and I have to say that this forum is head and sholders above them. I have never in my life seen more whinny little bit*hes. The mods are non-existant.

Posts like that kind of drag this forum down to that level ;)
