Root Should I Update Market App?

I'm on the latest Gingerbread Stock Rooted ROM;

[ROM][STOCK][Rooted] 4.53.651.1 - Odexed & De-Odexed - xda-developers

I still have the old market which oddly enough came with the ROM. I downloaded the latest MikG v2.56 ROM which I will not be using. I'm wondering if it is a good idea to pull the market.apk off that ROM and install with my current ROM so as to have the latest market version. I know most people hated the new market when it first came out but it's had some updates since then and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch.

have you tried the other 4.53 gingerbread roms out there. i heard that the swag rom and the sns rom are pretty sweet. i beleive that they have the new market as well.

i really do not mind the new market. not sure why people have issue with it.

The latest market is 3.2, it also can be found in the latest release of Supersonic 3D. Not much different from 3.1.5 though
 
When installing should I move the apk into system/app and overwrite the old one or should i delete the old one first?
 
I downloaded the apk, moved it to the root of my sdcard, used root explorer to try and install it and it almost went through. At the end I get a message of application cannot be installed. Any thoughts?

try and delete the original market apk and then try installing the new one.

Tried that with no success. Here's what worked:

I installed 3.0.26 using root explorer. Restarted and apparently the Market app updated itself immediately after to 3.1.5. Still can't install 3.1.6 but it seems like a lot of other people can't get that one installed either so it maybe a problem with that apk.
