On a purely slim chance, what if the treat Verizon is in for tomorrow, means they start taking orders immediately? I know it's a long shot, but we haven't had anything to speculate on since we are all preoccupied thinking about the launch. I'm too excited to sleep!

:D:D:D:D

Me too! Should have never left the Incredible for the TB...

I understand that many people have problems with the TB, but sometimes it makes me feel like I am the only one who loves this phone.

People who love their TB, who have had no more than the normal problems all cell phones face, we need to speak up.

I think my TB is in every way better than the DINC. I could do with it being thinner, but I also accept that many factors including the first gen LTE radio prevented that. That is my only complaint. Oh, and the fact that we do not have a mainline CM distribution. But that is hardly HTC or Verizon's fault. It is hardly a fault to begin with.

My main reasons for going to the prime are the continual need to upgrade, ICS, and the hardware jump. When I got the TB I knew it was a filler, the 2nd gen snapdragon was not too spectacular though it was a generational improvement. But I think even if this comes with OMAP 4430 (and that is not a debate I am starting, just a statement :) ) the fact that the OMAP 4xxx is the reference platform for ICS means that it will be an improvement.

I really like my thunderbolt too. I've had no issues with it other than the occasional restart or battery pull. I want the prime because I love new gadgets. Id be totally happy with the Tb until quadcore phones come out if there was no such thing as he prime.

Hello everyone. I guess I'll have to change my user name pretty soon! My first smart phone was an HTC Incredible, which served me well for ~1.25 yrs (eventually started to fall apart in every way--force closes, volume buttons not working etc). BRIEFLY I thought about the IPhone 5 (which was actually a disappointing 4S!). I tried it out when someone in my family got one last week, and quite honestly it's very underwhelming. Much less efficient than the android platform (3 clicks for every 1 on an android it seems) and a TERRIBLE keyboard. Wow. And these days, who wants just ONE iphone to choose from when you got tons of options if you don't follow the masses (seems like everyone has an IPhone everywhere I turn!).

Anyway, I'm very excited about tomorrow's announcement. Google is coming up with a lot of innovative ideas, and I think over the next few years they are really going to improve their hold on the market. My only concern is the battery life (which has been a problem with my HTC Incredible), but at least we can change out our own battery (cough IPhone cough).

Hopefully there are a few nice surprises tomorrow that no one has heard yet.

Welcome. I remember when android first started to make its way to the shelfs. Remember how people always complained about the keyboards on the android phones where not up to par with the Iphone. Well iphone that is just one more small notch that android has taken from you leaving that gash that much large from everything else being better then the iphone.

When doubting the content of the announcement tonight, I can't help but to go back to that first Unpacked teaser video that we got and then the infamous device without a name that was nominated for an award at CTIA. While ICS is a very big deal, I also think that the Nexus is something that Google is super excited about and I'm sure Samsung wants to have more of the spotlight than five minutes as the GN is announced. It leads me to believe that this event, is indeed centered around the release of the phone as much as ICS.

Siri alone is making me want to buy the iPhone 4s...which I know is a stupid reason, but it is just so dang cool!!! I need to hear the announcement so I can appease my appetite for new technology!

On the SGS2 it's also native... You just press home + power simultaneously

Try to hold back button and press power button screen will go black. Press again power button to unlock screen. After this DONT press back button. Now with home button you should be able to take million of screenshots. To leave this function just press back button. Worked on 2.3.3 2.3.4 2.3.5 on galaxy ace havent confirmed on other devices. Dosent work on froyo

Battery Life: I thought I saw where battery life is impressive because of ICS. I think it will be better than most people think it will be. There are a lot of big time execs excited about this phone. Google has the money and talent to deliver an OS that is the equal or better than IOS and Samsung has the resources and talent to make a phone that is better than Apple. It will be interesting when Apple and Samsung make a final break and Apple has to get their chips from someone else.

I read the same Jimbo1mcm.

Hey! I just realized that I could have sat here and posted all night long possibly hitting 11K with persistence. It gets slow in the wee hours of the morning! :D

Us Europeans seem to get the forum almost to ourselves at this time of day. Any other Brits got a view on networks carrying the prime?

Making backups: When I had my Droid X with a SD card, I used My Backup PRo and it saved my butt a few times. If the Nexus doesn't have a SD card, I guess I could use the online server option from MyBack Pro. If I have a catastrophe with the Nexus I guess I could do the following:

Hard Reset- gets the OS back, phone is like it was in the box.
GMail- when I log on to my Gmail account, I get my contacts and emails back.
Android Market- My purchased apps will come back. Not sure if I have to download them again, or if they flow automatically. I guess all the data with the apps is gone.

Is there anything out there that works as well as the sync feature of Itunes where you can just plug an Iphone in and it will backup everything and be available to restore, just as easily. If I have 25 GB of media on my Nexus it could be expensive to try and store it online. Any suggestions?
