***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I didn't realize they still said Exynos. That would be ideal for us. As much as I hope that's true, I am fearing that the other sites with "rumored" specs are correct. I love how they all say Confirmed Specs though. Nothing is confirmed in my eyes. It may still be named the Galaxy Nexus Prime for all we know.
Ha I am in total agreement with you here bro nothing is confirmed :) So much conflicting information leads me to believe NOBODY has actually seen the final hardware (those who have are not talking/leaking)

for your pleasure and my hope........Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus I9250 - Full phone specifications

Well, well, well. look what we have got here from germany. Seems to be a flyer from a german operator, but i don't know who it is.

And there is something wrong with the specs and onscreen buttons.

You and I are on the same page as far as that goes, but it seems they have conceded that their source was misleading them on the processor. That still doesn't make it any more true or false though. I don't think anyone really has seen it either, well anyone leaking specs anyway. I'm still hoping they call it Nexus Prime though, eben though I know that isn't going to happen at this point.

Nexus needs to have new Exynos to set it apart from Razr, Vigor. But I'm not holding breath on it though I would be very pleased to see it. HD screen, OMAP 4460, LTE plus stock ICS makes it the phone to get for me.

So....IF it has a locked bootloader...deal breaker or no?? There was some nonsense from a Moto rep posted over on Droid Life about Verizon 'requiring' Moto to lock the new Razors bootloader. If that's the case, how can they let a unlocked Sammy phone on?? Moto blatantly lying? Or Verizon being buttheads?

Except for the fact that they are basing that off the poster that several members have said is possibly not legitimate or even region specific. So we still don't know for sure.

I couldn't agree more. I think that picture is so grossly pathetic that it can't be real, but I've been wrong before. I generally trust CNET though, and when they agree, I do have a hard time doubting them. We shall see tonight for sure though!

Here is a theory guys. What if the CTIA event that got postponed wasn't even about the Galaxy Nexus (or whatever it will be called). We all just jumped to that conclusion. MAYBE it was for some new device like the GSIII or some other unanounced samsung device that will be running the exynos 4212 and will be a killer gaming and enthusiast device.

That would better explain the delay of that announcement (don't want to overshadow the galaxy nexus) and also why the image pulled from that video looks NOTHING like the images of what has leaked for the galaxy nexus. Makes sense.

So we can all go out and buy our crappy year old tech galaxy nexus, and then two weeks later get an announcement about the new device with the exynos 4212 coming out two months later and then get laughed at by the Bionic guys. hahahaha.

nice find! our first potential look at the back of the phone!!

I think this may be the actual phone. If you look at the bottom of the screen on the front, you can see the 3 virtual buttons shown in the video leak. Plus, it seems to match up with what we've heard about the back, being some futuristic plastic/metal hybrid material.

Nope.

There's a line of thunderstorms coming through Tennessee and the South tonight, 80% of rain. We need the rain... but if my power goes out during this live stream I'm gonna take my electric razor to my wrists!

Not sure what good it'll do... but I'll have pretty wrists... :p

I am with you chief. I have been scared of those storms all day. We ALWAYS lose electricity during storms. My wife is locking up the razors as we speak.

I live downtown Chattanooga and didn't even lose power in the snowstorm we had in January, but I do have my broken down Rogue that will still get to youtube :), although that's about all it will do.

Nexus phones have never had the core specs region-specific. (with the exception of radios) I wouldn't be surprised later on tonight if this ends up as 1.2 Ghz processor. Remember guys numbers don't matter, as long as the O/S performs smoothly.

Honestly, I am surprised that you guys are upset that it could be similar to GS2, like last year when nexus S was pretty much a repacked Gs1.

I guess history repeats itself.

Anyhow, I;m more looking forward to what ICS has to offer ;)

So now...the question is, was vz_wired full of crap?

He said there were 4 incorrect items in the BGR specs. Here are the BGR specs again, now compared with the specs from the Japanese poster that leaked:

-Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich *absolutely correct*

-9mm thin *8.8mm - would this really be something to nitpick over?*

-4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass *agrees with Japanese poster*

-TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz *agrees with Japanese poster*

-1GB of RAM *agrees with Japanese poster*

-32GB of built-in storage *agrees with Japanese poster*

-5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front *rear agrees with Japanese poster, front may be incorrect*

-1080p HD video capture support *yes*

-LTE/HSPA depending on carrier *yes*

-Wi-Fi a/b/g/n *yes*

-NFC *yes*

-1,750 mAh battery *probably ends up being bigger*

So if we look for incorrect specs we find:
1) Size (8.8mm instead of 9mm thick) - this would be a crappy one to try and hype up
2) Front camera? (maybe 2.0MP instead of 1.3MP) - whoop-de-freaking-doo
3) Battery (Probably bigger than 1750mAh) - that would be nice
4) ???

BGR and kellex took a bit of flack from people here based on the specs, especially after GSM arena leaked more impressive ones. It's seems they may have been right all along...

Wasn't there also something said that the processor in the GN would be something we haven't seen in a phone in the US? If that's the case wouldn't Google have know about the processor going into the RAZR? And so we are now left to speculate further.
