***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Honestly - I think you reacted to my post without actually reading it.

If you did read it, I'm not interested in arguing, but I'd suggest you read it again.

If you want to make a separate when is Gnex coming to Verizon thread, that's your prerogative .

How asking for help to preserve information got your ire up escapes me.

No I did read it and don't need to read it again. All I was doing was suggesting getting rid of is verizon getting it and silly CPU posts. No need to be rude about it...

No, more like Tron Legacy-like.

Heh, legacy =/= modern. But you like the interface, so that's all that matters.

Are you a hardcore phone gamer? If so, then you might want to wait for something else. But if you're just into movies, ebooks, surfing, texting, photo-taking, movie-making, and all the other normal stuff that we do with our phones nowadays, you might want to get off the train here.

No, far from a gamer. Strictly productivity stuff (esp. browsing & news reading) with a preference for a speedy user interface, all of which Nexus will definitely deliver in spades.

You're right, there's no rational reason for me not to be delighted w/Nexus. Just waiting for my irrational side to catch up.

Only those not on Verizon hate the "I hope it comes to Verizon" posts.

Just move on by the post if you don't like it in stead of trying to commit genocide on the matter.

Your feelings are ion your shirt sleeves.

There was nothing rude in my heart or words in my reply.

I think you would perhaps want to give us mods a little faith, as we do you.

We are going to get rid of this entire thread soon.

I've said it often, I said in the post you quoted.

If you think we ought lose the interesting and important contributions you're making to the camera discussion at the same time - ok, if that's what you want, that's what we'll do.

I just assumed that you'd want that preserved. That is all there was to it.

And that is exactly what I said the first time.

Getting rid of this thread??? NOOOOOOO!!! I need to be able to go back and survey how many times Mods were offered cookies!

Hey, does anyone think that this phone will support multiple video formats? Like AVI, MKV, etc.

I know my OG Droid doesn't, but I'm not sure about the later phones.

Long time lurker.........

Anyway anyone notice this? Now they say on the Facebook Samsung page:
"My mistake, no U.S. carrier has been determined yet. Stay tuned for updates."

NOT AGAIN!!!

Sorry guys, this was just posted on Samsung Mobile USA's facebook comment. To be fair though, a Verizon release is probably common knowledge at Samsung, and she just got chewed out for releasing information they're not supposed to.

Yes, and that is because of the drop to 5MP. Probably similar sensor sizes, but 37% fewer pixels = 37% more light into each pixel. WIth the same sensor size, and equal quality lenses, the lower MP will have better low light pics.

uh.. with the same size sensor the same amount of light is hitting the entire thing so it makes no difference in brightness. more pixels is less light per pixel, sure, but theres more pixels. if it had one bigass pixel it would be tons of light per pixel, but it would just be one color.

think about it.

Sounds like they got slapped by Verizon. :p

I wouldn't worry about it. All signs point to Verizon getting it first.

Probably said that because he got his hand slapped for leaking the truth before he should have. I'm sure vzw is supposed to have the honor of making the announcement. Wouldn't worry about it, imo.

Audio format list wasn't long from what I remember seeing somewhere. I'm not to concerned anyhow as many of the aftermarket video players are good for that stuff. I am a bit confused though why google hasn't built in at least all open source codecs and wrappers already??

Link or it didn't happen. (I as well as HanSolo, BlueBiker, Steven, EarlyMon, plus many unnamed others hope. CK is probably saying "I told you so")

Although it would be nice I'm doubtful. I know my Xoom doesn't play them without 3rd party software and a codec. But it is a whole new OS we are talking about so you never know.

Me means locking the thread, not deleting it. IIRC, the day of first confirmed customer receipt of Nexus.

Kudos for deft change of subject. It may not matter what the phone supports natively once VLC is released.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for making this thread pretty freaking entertaining. I will be sad to see it go in a few weeks (hopefully) but it's like a train wreck...you just can't stop watching.

I've had my eye on this and the Razr and unless V totally screws it up I'm pretty sure I'm getting this. I look forward to our many awesome conversations to come from this "game changing" phone.

And a big shout out to Mr. Solo for introducing me to the phrase "love tunnel"!

I would think the one of the bigger questions to ask would be, what GPU is it running and at what speed? Is it the SGX540 running at 384 mhz is it at a lower clock speed because the CPU is running at 1.2 vs 1.5? If we can stably overclock the CPU will that increase the clock speed of the GPU, if the clock speeds are tied together? Could that potential speed bump enhance performance of the phone?

There was no real concrete answer to my questions here. Anyone have any ideas that would like to share?

New media codecs and containers
Android 4.0 adds support for additional media types and containers to give developers access to the formats they need. For high-quality compressed images, the media framework adds support for WebP content. For video, the framework now supports streaming VP8 content. For streaming multimedia, the framework supports HTTP Live streaming protocol version 3 and encoding of ADTS-contained AAC content. Additionally, developers can now use Matroska containers for Vorbis and VP8 content.

Perhaps you need to go read it again because it sure seems to be a bit rude to me.

Perhaps my words did not convey my intentions. Clearly, that's how you see it.

I therefore sincerely apologize for anything lacking in my communication skills, to you, to the community.

I hope we can now consider the matter is rested. OK to PM me for further discussion - my door is always open.

If anyone finds fault with me or any mod, it is your right to alert Phases via PM and let him know your views.

Again, I apologize for my part in any difficulty here, and am thanking one and all for your patience.
