***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I am guessing they have built enough of these and been testing them in public and such that they have been through the FCC also, but were savvier about how they did the NDA with the FCC on publishing stuffs about them. If it never goes on sale the FCC probably never has to make the reports public if you don't want them to be.

Possible GOOD NEWS!!!!

Just went to a verizon store to pick up a usb cable (yes, I know I can get them for $2 on ebay but I needed one today), and here is how the convo went:

me- so when are you guys getting that new phone? (I just said new phone to see if she knew what I was talking about)

her- the samsung nexus?

me- yeah

her-should be VERY soon because we just completed training on it the other day.

me- awesome, how much is it going to cost?

her- well, it's 4g, so it's going to be 299 I believe

So there you have it. I didn't even mention the name of the phone and she knew what I was asking about, and said they all just got done training for the phone. :D:D

Okay Brain I will bite. Headed to Verizon store to see what they say. Will report back soon.

2 weeks is 11/3, which as we all know has been one of THE dates for quite some time. Just sayin'. I find myself squarely in the middle between CK and the mob and though I'd like to believe it's done, I'm not quite there yet. Almost, but not quite. Just wish VZ would run a commercial and end the speculation for good.
Out of everyone there, did not ANYONE think to ask "Is this going to be a Verizon exclusive at launch?" Thats the FIRST thing I would have asked. Nobody thought of this?

Nexus One, we immediately knew where it was going. Nexus S we immediately knew where it was going. Galaxy Nexus, nothing. This is getting pretty ridiculous.

Not sure about CK and the other doubters out there with me, but I am not doubting that everything is going along like this is a done deal internally. I am sure there is a release plan being executed to actually make this device happen, but the sorts of reasons it might not go on sale in my head could kill it even if there were a stock pile at every VZW store in the land ready to ring up.

Not sure if VZW could stop Google and Samsung from allowing sales at Best Buy and such with no contracts/subsidies and figure that will be a given regardless. BUT, there is a chance VZW is still not sure they want to officially sponsor the device as a VZW thing. You would still need to get a SIM for it from VZW and such and not sure how that would work, but doubt they would try and block that for peeps who got a hold of one.

This is all wild assumption and conspiracy on my part obviously, but not really outta the realm of possibility depending on how hot and sharp the poker is that that Google is probably poking VZW with to announce and accept this device officially and publicly. This is just my fun little conspiracy in my head based on a big battle I have figure has been brewing since we got Digital TV and LTE started to get built.

100% truth...she told me they are already done training ("just completed training the other day")....and it seems like she knew what she was talking about, so I don't know.

Yep and there is ZERO reason Samsung and Google wouldn't announce this if'n VZW was hunky dory about going public with the device with them. My feeling is that various aspects of the device such as BL config and other things were bait switched on VZW by Google at the last minute. Not sure Google is playing that dirty, but it was either that or vague agreements on such things that weren't really seriously getting nailed down on specifics until the last minute.

Just bugs the crap out of me that the most important question on EVERYONES mind doesn't get asked.

Nobody cared what US carrier, or any carrier for that matter, is releasing it first? "Cool phone, lets get out of here and get something to eat"

Take this or leave it - totally up to each of you - but as of right now, I'm PSYCHED!!!

I decided to call my VZW rep pal (same contact as from the Incredible days) and expressed a feigning, passing interest in the Nexus. We made some small talk about the specs and so on and after about 5-10 minutes, I decided to casually ask, "So when are ya getting this thing?"

With ZERO hesitation, he says, "Oh it's looking like next week or the first week of November, at the latest." That ONE sentence - with NO hesitation, mind you - instantly clarified that not only is the phone coming out very soon, but it is definitely coming to Verizon!!

We're getting this phone, everyone!!!!!!!!! :)
