I know everyone remembers the Nexus One, and how it was coming to Verizon.

Nexus One Phone - Choose a phone If the link is slow click impatient!

What if this happens all over again. We wait Verizon says it's on its way. We wait.....wait.....wait.....then unfortunately it's no longer going to be offered by Verizon. I will be pretty POed at Verizon if the pull this again.

ha! you found that good job :)

I was talking about this 2000 posts back. But don't worry that was 1 day ago.

I'm still waiting for the Nexus 1. I will start refreshing that page again

Yeah but did we have pics of Nexus One on Verizon? Did we have testers and Verizon employees saying that Nexus One was coming? Did Han's sister say anything about Nexus One?

Sorry, too many things point to a Verizon release for me to doubt it based on a phone from years ago...

returned mine waiting for another phone to buy I can't go back to iphones :o

I really can't believe they didn't fix such an glaring issue with that phone. I am pretty sure that is the only problem with gs2 is the failing GPS. Everything else about phone is nice other than its probably not getting ics till next may

OK. I'm done reading this thread for the day.... Can we create a thread where people just complain about Verizon?

I was stuck on the fact that a top of the line smart phone was $179 subsidized at launch. Those days are long gone.

No but we had it passing through FCC:

Nexus One hits FCC again, this time in CDMA trim -- Engadget

and this:

Google's Nexus One coming to Verizon on March 23 - Neowin.net

Hit the FCC it had to come right?

yes and no. if you look at it this way, verizon seems to be set at that 299 for their LTE top of the line phones while sprint looks like they stay around the 199 range for their wimax phones. while that may seem like a better deal, in reality they also charge an additional $10 per month for their 4g service, which over the course of the 2 year contract will be an additional $240. in the end, ill just pay the extra $100 up front

Alert not nexus related:

My wife just went to the store to replace her 3rd broken OG droid. She is using her upgrade while I wait and wait. Anyway I told her to make sure she looks at the fruity product as well as all the other android phones to make sure since she will have it for 2 years.

Anyway she comes home with a Rhyme! I asked if she looked at the iphone and she said "yes, but that thing was too complicated for me" :D

This is how you are going to be able to buy the Nexus at Verizon: You go to the back door and knock 3 times. A guy opens a little slot window at the top and asks you what you want. You beg for a Nexus and hand him your wallet. He passes a Nexus through the slot and tells you to not come back anymore.

Pentile screen: Techcrunch is hating on it.

Anyone really concerned about this?

Can someone who had seen the phone in person make a comment on this. Rob?

Possible GOOD NEWS!!!!

Just went to a verizon store to pick up a usb cable (yes, I know I can get them for $2 on ebay but I needed one today), and here is how the convo went:

me- so when are you guys getting that new phone? (I just said new phone to see if she knew what I was talking about)

her- the samsung nexus?

me- yeah

her-should be VERY soon because we just completed training on it the other day.

me- awesome, how much is it going to cost?

her- well, it's 4g, so it's going to be 299 I believe

So there you have it. I didn't even mention the name of the phone and she knew what I was asking about, and said they all just got done training for the phone. :D:D

Well it was a girl. Probably didn't know it between the RAZR.

<ducks>

I kid. :D

a link was posted awhile ago to BMX's post in another forum:

All,

Based on some of the things I have been reading on the net and the uncertain nature involving what I considered a stunning achievement from the Android team in 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus I wanted to take some time to share my thoughts.

Its a shame that the past issues with Vzw have got their customers so accustomed to getting shafted on quality devices that any rumor or hint of a delay causes most to believe they will be let down again. You have to remember that some have been using the device on Verizon's LTE network for quite a while in one shape or another.

Issues arise as devices get closer to final software release concerning optimizing data services and software in final shake down. Things happen during this and at this point, there is nothing deal breaking that I am aware of concerning data connectivity on the device. Putting a new Os, LTE and Dual core with this amazing screen tech in a package this sexy means a lot has to be put into final polishing so the day 1 experience is great out the box. I caution those that are worried to calm down and accept that early Nov means you will know soon enough if your fears are valid.

Let us all as Android fans ( and yes I am still a fan) simply enjoy the fact that OUR os has grown into the biggest mobile OS on the planet and that is because of fans that are rabid about their devices and features.

This will be a massive launch for Verizon and if they screw this up then the faith alot of customers have in the company will be lost and another carrier will step up and truly become the dominate player in the US Android market...

Great network be damned, if you cant get the device you want on it...

Panda..

and, then P3Droid responded, since he and BMX were largely "behind" the rumors getting started about potential problems with VZW, and here's what P3 said:

Well I'm afraid I may be the person who started this whole storm. So let me add my .02 here.

I believe that the Galaxy Nexus is going to make its debut on Verizon. Is it having some problems, yes it is. Do I expect them to be ironed out, yes I do.

I only shared information with all of you because that is what I do, but I do not think you all should be acting in this manner. Its just a phone, and its just a carrier. You will have an opportunity to get the device somewhere and somewhere soon.

So please dial it back. This attention to detail is good for you and me. Because the ultimate goal of Verizon is to ensure a quality product running with no problems so that the network and device meet yours and mine expectations. In fact I want them to be thorough so we don't have another Thunderbolt fiasco.

So relax, and enjoy the new OS by watching the replay over and over again, the device launch will be here before you know it.

maybe everyone has seen this, maybe they haven't. if it's an unnecessary post, Steven/EarlyMon/OTD can do with it as they see fit [i have been a mod in other places - i know the drill and won't take offense]. i just thought it was appropriate to see what the "sources" of the rumors [or more appropriately, the sources upon which others have started rumors] had to say.

i'm not overly encouraged, but i'm not overly discouraged, either. as the Mods and others have been saying, i think i just need to step back and see how it all plays out. i still think we will see this device on VZW, and i remain hopeful that it's sometime in Nov. if it doesn't happen, i will be very disappointed (but not end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it disappointed). i can't jump carriers; so, i would probably end up with the RAZR - root it, get rid of bloat, and end up with a nice, serviceable device for the next 20 months. not ideal, but i can deal.

yeah, when they train, it's only a matter of weeks.

I've rather have a delayed phone that works, than get it today with problems.

However, it would not only be "nice" of Verizon to let us know the situation, but also good for customer service.
