***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Differences in opinion are what makes the world go around, but in my mind, I'm doubling down on that bet and cleaning out the dealer. This is the most solid proof we have, regardless of some tweet that has been right at times, and wrong at others. When the corporation spends money to make it public, take it to the bank. Do you think they didn't believe we would find that page? Obviously they knew what they were doing. Say hello to Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus folks.

this is so very true, they know we have people who search the interwebs for this kinda thing, however i wonder what is the purpose behind still keeping everything a secret, even when everyone knows the device now exists... cant be too many good reasons for it

Just whatever deal they had to make with the devil to have the RAZR exclusively. I'd be willing to go with the poster that said earlier vzw's hands are probably ties as far as new phone releases right now. Or at least the advertising of new phones.

I don't think the WebTop hurts things as much as some try to claim, even if you NEVER EVER use it..
Thats one of my major concerns, is the performance hit from WebTop if any. I've yet to read anything conclusive on the matter and that subject is well above my pay grade. I'm a bit skeptical of another Linux based system running next to Android even while un-docked.

As an FYI have read the XDA article but I'm not entirely sold on his explanation.

I could be wrong (I am most of the time :) )

Actually shocked that's he answered.
Look I talked to a rep that handles my department and a school nearby. He knows as much as we do. The last he knew (last week) it was an exclusive. He heard from me that there were concerns. Really don't know. P3 has come through plenty of times. But this guy deals with a lot of high end accounts. I'm sure he'd know something.... Right?

P3 has come through many times, P3 has been flat out wrong many times, P3 has been a d-bag to people who don't bow down to him many times.

Then he bitches and wonders why he gets the same treatment back.

Misc: 2.00 Bytes?! Well it's Linux based, so I guess it's not <carriage return> and <line feed>.

Hans why are you so upset over what P3 is saying? He's one man. No need to get upset over what he's saying it's really not worth it. At the end of the day it's just a silly phone. Regardless of what happens there will be other phones.

Don't let him ruin your night and mood. Nothing is definitive right now. No matter who is saying it. Heck even if he was on twitter saying "it's coming, it's coming" it's still meaningless. He doesn't know. If he did he would just come out and say it which as you see he hasn't. Quite the opposite, he saying he's not saying that. He's in the same boat I am but is going about it in a different way.

Relax brother and breathe. Wait for official word then get mad or happy

I'm late and out of date (what else is new), but is there a question about running Linux along with Android? I do that, can provide a link with screen shots and a straight forward functional block diagram I put together of how that works if it's any contribution here.

Apologies if I misunderstood and this is off point.

That is undeniable. I really think there is some bad mojo behind the scenes and it's probably a plethora of stuff causing it. Verizon could fix it all real easy too I am sure, but they are using the only leverage they have at this point I figure.

The good part is that it's far to early to be concerned much as they still have a few weeks before we are even to what is believed to be or have been the planned release date. If they didn't want Samsung/Google and VZW customers who are fans of Nexus nervous though, they would have allowed an announcement out. They want S/G and us nervous/concerned for some reason though.

Judging from the first picture, it doesn't look like the bet-hedger had the final build.

That first pic looks gorgeous don't you think? Maybe we will be able to switch the hyperskin cover on the retail one to one of a similar ilk to the one posted by P3. Here's hoping! (Lol a lotta "one" in my post..maybe confusing):D

please do I'm VERY interested in this. I will read entire article but with a simple yes or no. Is there a performance hit with WebTop enabled handsets?

Gracias

I had the Bionic for a week seeing if I could get past the PenTile. I gave it a pretty good push from a multitasking perspective and such the whole time and it never seemed to struggle with anything. If it weren't for the screen I would probably still have it. There might be some sacrifice if you don't want WebTop, but I am quite sure it's extremely minor if anything at all from a resource perspective.

I have an OG now, so 512mb memory is a HUGE upgrade, hah.

Love our Droids :)

What is this sacrifice you speak of?
