Hello and Nexus vs Droid Razr Info request

Well here it is for me...These are my thoughts...

Initially I was going to get both of them if they dropped very close to eachother, and put them through they're paces, and then decide which one I like better, and return the other...
However, at this point I don't think they will be launched at the same time...maybe 2/3 weeks apart from each other. So that idea won't work, and with the news dropping of the Razr having a micro sim card, swapping the phones out daily will be in a pain in the neck. So no dice there!

Which leads me to this...They both have amazing qualities ...In my eyes, one is not lite years ahead of the other, for the exception of ICS untouched being on board for the Nexus.

But to be brutally honest...I have 3 giant concerns about both, and will probably play out big to me...The BIG things I am concerned about is,,,

Which has better...

Build Quality?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the DROID Razr most likely...You will most likely not here any creaks out of that thing. Looks like a very modern, lite Tank if u ask me. Just looks like it may be better made then the Nexus with more attention put into detail about the build quality...I mean come on..Gorilla glass, a bullet proof back (lol), and a steel interior chassis, etc..
The Nexus however looks like classic Samsung, plastic and lite...which isn't a bad thing! But I need a hands on to really make the call. And if it comes out 100% that the Nexus doesn't have Gorilla Glass, i'm out of the market for it.

Camera?
Yea I know ...5 vs 8 Megapixels! Means nothing in the real world. My Bionic is 8 and it sux along with the terrible auto focus. And with that being said, makes me feel a little weary about the Razr...if its the same exact camera as the Bionic...again, that's a problem to me. Hopefully its a little revamped...
As for Samsung...the Charge was awesome! If the Nexus is as good, which it most likely is, or better, then I would be a very happy camper. As long as the gimmicky no shutter crap doesn't spit out blurry shots because of the camera not having time to focus.

Call Quality?
Yup I use my phone as a PHONE...lol! So this is a BIG concern to me...Loud and clear is what I like...So this will have to be tested live on both to see which one cones out in top ...

As for the Beast label...Come on, they both rock and will both be lightning fast as far as speed goes.

So there it is...Let the waiting game begin.

If this is true, I won't bother with Razr. Though CPU clock speed is the same 1.2Ghz, 4430 will have slower clocked GPU, generate more heat, power consumption than 4460. And I bet camera on Nexus is better than Razr.

It is true, it's already been confirmed by Motorola (look at "Update 2"):

They updated the page to a 4430, so screw that overclocked and deceptive move by Motorola.

Since the Nexus has no SD and the Razr is using a less efficient chip to get to 1.2ghz, I choose neither. Bummer.

I choose you Pickachu.......I mean Nexus........;)

But, I'm starting to feel like maybe I should wait it out some more since supposedly ICS source will be released as soon as the Nexus goes live, and it means a possible ICS Rom for my DX.......hmmmmmmmmmmm, decisions :p

I don't know...I saw some pics of the Vigor and I wasn't really feelin the red buttons and what not! Plus I was so amped to be getting a clean vanilla version of the Nexus on VZW.

I may just wait, and sit this one out!

There is also Revo 2 on the way. It's got IPS-HD (non-pentile) screen, 1830mAh battery and pretty much the same other specs as Vigor. But as of late, we have no idea where it is in pipeline for verizon.

I know myself...the day the Nexus hits, I will flock down there. The glory of pure Google will hit me like a ton o bricks...

Same will happen with the Razr, and the glory of all it's thinness ...lmaoo

Good point. I never had any use for micro SIM so I had no idea cutters like that even existed. The downside is that if you use an old SIM with round chip these cutters will not work and you will either have to cut the SIM with scissors or pay for a newer SIM from your carrier.

All in all this makes the RAZR more desirable than I thought. I love a lot of things about the Nexus, but RAZR's SAMOLED screen with good resolution and uSD slot, and a bit smaller dimensions make it a more compelling choice at the moment. The price is quite a bit different too.

Another thing that just came to mind - Nexus does not have the most powerful GPU and that means the GPU may or may not have problems running such a high resolution screen. As always, the higher the resolution, the more power is required to drive it.

Last thing is build quality. I have had both European versions of Droid 1 and 2 and could not be happier with Motorola's build quality - cannot say the same about Samsung Galaxy line. Gorilla Glass, Kevlar, sound pretty interesting.

RAZR 55 - Nexus 45 at this point.

How would you determine price between the 2 at this point?
 
Anandtech posted a pixel and subpixel density for a few smartphones. It features Motorola Atrix 2 that has the same screen as Razr.

AnandTech - Confirmed: Galaxy Nexus Includes PenTile

Razr does not seem to be far behind GNex in screen properties then. Another point for Razr. I am getting very close to preordering one.

EDIT: Just pre-ordered Moto Razr. Will wait until the 1st and hope they ship it right then.
