Steven,

Has anyone heard from Rob since the announcement? Other than the night of, he's been silent. Maybe I've missed it in this thread but I don't remember seeing anything.

So I just got an email request for software access from a Verizon engineer. Should I give him access or tell him no until I have release info on the Gnex?

j/k I did get an email request from a Verizon engineer but it is from the TV side of their operations not mobile so I doubt he would know anything special on the phone.

Maybe you need to find a boss with a skinny beautiful wife :D

In my Navy days I had a skipper with a gorgeous wife. We were ALWAYS in port. It was great! He was replaced by a skipper with an ugly, overweight wife. We were ALWAYS out at sea. True story.

Probably would get fired in that situation too...

So there's been a lot of rumors of Theo Epstein coming from the Red Sox to the Cubs, and rumors were flying around that there would be an announcement today, but so far, there's nothing.

What the heck is happening?! Oh no, oh no!! This means that Theo ISN'T coming to the Cubs, and even though he broke the Red Sox curse, he won't get a chance to do it here, which means that 103 years without a WS championship will go another 100 years, and now our arch rivals Cardinals are probably going to win it AGAIN, and then we'll be even more of a laughingstock! Dang it! And now that I think about it, in the past whenever a new GM was rumored to come, it was always announced really really quick. . .it's never been like this!

Crap. Well, I guess the Cubs have to look for another GM because there is no freaking way this is happening now. No chance.

Where are you getting your information from? All reports coming out are that the deal is just about finalized as of 2 hours ago. Perhaps you'll need to stop watching Fox News!

Yep, definitely. But it's also true that my boss's wife is about 60 pounds overweight, but I don't go around reminding the poor guy about it. :D

Maybe cause you want to keep your job? :D

True dat but keep in mind that we techies have a lot of influence in what a lot of non-techies buy. I have no problem explaining the differences between RAZR and Nexus to folks in a way they can understand (no geek talk) and making sure that I do everything in my power to make sure that Nexus outsells RAZR, no matter what Verizon does with its marketing campaign :)

I would fall into the non techie group so far, with baby steps towards the other side, but I like to have things explained to me with proper terms first - then if I don't know what it is a further explanation.

We use trans-reflective screens in one of the products we manufacture. Looks awesome in sunlight and just as clear indoors.

Yes, but "just about finalized" without an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT means it's not happening. At least in CK world. :p

Guys it was a joke to lighten the mood!!!!! But also it shows that anyone can say anything online but that doesn't make it so.

So to Mr. P3droid....... SHUT UP!!!!! (Billy Madison style)

OMG. I was in the Army and the best platoon sergeants (or Lts..) were ones with great marriages. Its too bad all my platoon sergeants were either unhappily married or alone and bitter. Good thing my last Lt liked to go home and drink!

You're here aren't you? You are more knowledgeable than 90%. Actually since you are at AF, its more like 95%. And since you are humble and anxious to learn, it is probably more like 99.9%, as so many people think they know it all already, instead of learning from the few here that really do.
