Sorry to share this from black_man_x's twitter feed:

Wanna know how long till damn extended battery for gnex... This LTE is a hungry bastard.

Hopefully that tweaked spec is the battery. You may recall he made a battery comment a while back and then sort of back tracked a little claiming he was using it very heavily for 6 hours. I was very suspicious of his change of tune. I thought maybe he got whacked on the knuckles by Google for being critical of the device. Now he makes this statement. I'll be curious to see if he pedals backward on this again.

You have to kind of expect this. I mean huge hd screen + lte are sure to be a battery killer. May be another thunderbolt fiasco.

So I know that Panda's tweet about battery life was already posted a bit ago, but it's interesting that he says he got 4 hours, but downloaded a 2.8 GB torrent in that time. That's some heavy LTE usage. I just checked my unlimited data usage online, and in 14 days I've used 371 MB. That will definitely go up once I get LTE and experiment with streaming Netflix, etc., but that will wear off and I'll eventually go back to my usual data consumption. So for me, I think battery life won't be an issue throughout the day.

Also, BMX is tweeting that you can, in fact, remove the Google search bar at the top. That's great news! I'm very minimalist with my phone's homescreen, and I was hating that search bar!

Wow! That's cool. If she plays Debra, she is one hot lady!!!

Bingo! :D She's super cool too. My wife is a photographer so most of our photos are with Deb behind the camera. (Yes, her name is Deb :)) This pic is the two of them.

I'd like to see her in a comedy someday. She's a very, very funny gal. It's hard to get that from her role in Dexter and the movie Exorcism of Emily Rose. She did play a small part in the Wayans Brothers' White Chicks and you her lighter side in that.

She doesn't leak any info on the current season...and I wouldn't want to know anything. But we keep worrying they'll kill her off one of these days. My wife got to visit the set during the making of season 3. I gotta get out there before they wrap the series.

Back to GNex talk. Which, by the way, if in the end RAZR kills GNex in battery life I might be joining CK across the pond. The main reason I want to replace my ThunderBolt is to get something more battery efficient. I know...I'm starting to sound like a broken record. However, I've also noticed my LTE speeds seem to really lag behind what others get. Could there be a difference in LTE speed between TB and GNex?

That is so cool. Must be weird to see her in some rather, ahem, racy scenes, though, eh?

As far as GNex is concerned, the only thing I can see pushing me towards Razr or something else is if the battery lasts like 2 hours and heats up like a piece of coal. Otherwise, I'm okay with it. I plug in at work all day anyway.

Nothing sacred here either, Han. Darling Bride knows my pattern. But should the phone fall into the wrong hands, I don't want them seeing all my contacts, my address, home phone etc. It's just a safety feature to me.

I'm always handing mine off to the missus so she can play Words with Friends with it. (She doesn't have a smarty phone) I suppose I should lock it though for the reasons above. I lost an iPod Touch on an airplane and panicked for a little while because I had an app for my bank on it. I did all the necessary password changing on all my accounts. Still, it seems a talented opportunist could have made things hard for me. I got lucky.

I'm right in the blob of around 10 inches of snow. Nothing to do today but wait it out and refresh AF for nexus news. It stinks that weekends tend to be so slow.

I wish we could get some heavy snow soon. I'm dying to go boarding. They say this winter will be heavy in snowfall. Here's hoping!

I'm halfway between Albany and NYC. This has the potential to be a nasty wet snow with some winds. Last time we had a storm like this we lost power for 5 days. I've got my generator lubed up.

I'm ready for some snow sports too.

The heavy snow- laden leaves are gonna cause power loss.

You can keep it, too.

As a lifelong resident downwind of one of the Great Lakes,I know that eventually we will get ours too.

I get it...your location is NE Ahia...Ohio? I'm from Alliance, but now live in Florida. This year tipped the scales for me...I've now lived in Florida a year longer than I did in Ohio. I don't miss driving (or walking) on the black ice. Scary stuff.

I wonder what the LTE standby battery drain is. I don't anticipate going through multi-gig benders, but how much of an extra drain is it to just keep it running? That will determine for me whether I leave it on or only use it when I surf the web, etc.

2.8 gigs on LTE depending on area is nothing. Maybe an hour. I get 22mbps down in Morris Plains. I don't really see the correlation to his times. Even with my TB downloading a gig didn't really destroy my battery.

Also, the fact he's downloading a torrent is probably the culprit. All those handshakes and acknowledgements, will surely destroy ones battery.

Maybe he watched it download the whole time? I had a friend that would watch his torrents download like it was netflix or something. Of course, that wasn't on his phone though.

Yeah, but that was downloading a torrent, so his uploading was probably pretty major as well. Also, he doesn't give all details. Who knows if he was browsing the web, streaming at the same time, having it on at full brightness the whole time, etc.

It's pretty much all BS until we get this thing in our paws.
