I haven't read all the way back although I do try to keep up on the posts on a daily basis. I just wanted to know if anyone else googled GALAXY NEXUS and was directed to the verizon wireless website asking if we wanted to be put on the email list for news on the GNex? Of course, I put in all my info. Then I did a search for the phone on their website, and of course, nothing showed up YET!! Hopefully, soon....keep the faith! I know I've been tempted to get the CHARGE because my crappy Rogue is on its last legs..shuts off by itself, doesn't recognize the battery etc...I'm ready to scream BUT then I watch all the GNex videos and I STOP in my tracks WAITING..'cause I know it will be worth the wait!!:D

LTE kills the phone more even just in standby. If you used a lte phone you would see this.
 
Oh no, my Dinc screen has died a couple weeks too early. I'm in cell phone purgatory with a moto razr (not the new one) until I can get a new phone. It's gonna be hard not to pull the trigger on a phone before the 17th.

Do you have ins? if so pay the deductible get new phone... then sell new phone for more than the deductible in a few weeks and get Nexus.

BTW Woodraskam, have you tried Swappa? Great Android phones there. Get one CHEAP and use it as your backup instead of a non-smartphone. No more concerns about losing your data plan. Just a thought.

Although I think that the face unlock feature can be breached if someone has a photo of you. Granted, a mugger or a thief that steals it when you accidentally leave it on a restaurant table to go use the bathroom won't have your picture, but still. . . .

most people that steal your phone wont have a photo of you though. I think thats what they was aiming at not if your other half started snooping.

This happen to me, I called vz cs and told them I lost my phone. I had to replace it with dumb phone, but I did not want to loose my unlimited data. She put a note on my account so when I brought another smartphone I could call vz and they would put my unlimited data back on to my account
 
Lost power for a bit last night.

Still no updates on the release/pre-release date, huh. Hopefully, this week will give us some new info.

Verizon seems to be all over the map with this. For the Bionic, they announced the phones availability the next day with no pre-order period. The RAZR, they announced and then provided the pre-order and availability dates later. Will be curious as to what they do with the GNex.

I don't think we will hear much since the rezound is getting announced thur.
 
For everyone planning on going to a dumb phone as a backup before the Nexus...DON'T. I did because a customer service rep told me I could get back my unlimited data plan within 14 days. The next customer service rep told me no that was a lie. I have been screwed/cheated out of my plan. Learn from my misfortune LOL.

It almost looks like he isn't even touching the galaxy nexus to make it seem slower.

Not sure how the myth started that a photo could unlock your phone with Face Unlock, but it can't. I can't remember where I read it, but I think it was either the long TIMN interview with Duarte or someone else that knew the technology well. They absolutely discounted that it was possible. It was originally written as a concern by an Apple fanboi and seems to have been perpetuated from there. I'll try to track down the reference to add legitimacy to this post...Besides, watching my Cowboys is too painful and I have nothing better to do.
 
Has anyone put up screen shots of the settings menus yet?
I'm wondering if there is an on.off toggle for 4G modes.
I work and play in a 4G area and live in a 3G area for now.

If a toggle is not available out of the box... root will solve that. Yeah unlocked bootloader:D

Ok kids,


I'm back online. We got power back this afternoon. Sigh. What a weekend. To my credit, I did not shovel a thing. :D All I had to do was sweep my car off. After we got power back, Comcast internet did not follow suit until tonight. Comcast is back now and things are back to normal for work tomorrow.

I tell you, the cold and the darkness last night? Not fun. Cleanup? Not too bad. As the snow melted off the heavy leaved trees, the tree branches snapped back to normal looking, for the most part, and you'd never know that they were bent to the hilt.

Glad to be back. :D
