Agreed. Freaked me out a little because it was on DL, and I take a lot of what they say seriously. But the linked article is the same as from earlier this morning. Pure speculation.

Sorry if I alarmed anyone. :o

Well actually Verizon told them exactly what they stated in the press release when they announced the Nexus...that it would be release before the end of the year.

Nothing new and nothing of interest for the members of this thread that keep up to date with the information that Steven58 provides us with. ;)

I am cool with Nov. 17th as a release date, pre-order or not I don't really care. Verizon has to do what they feel is in their best interest business wise and I am willing to wait for the device that most suites me and my usage needs...plus 4G LTE service goes live here in Lincoln on Nov. 17th:D

Probably, but if that info matched up to anything their other sources have said, they'd have mentioned it.

And they hear lots of things. Like that it was going to be called the Nexus Prime. And that it was coming out November 3. And November 10. And November 17.

It's all BS until Verizon announces it.

Yeah, just saw that too. So if there's a pre-order, I guess I'm going to do that, if not, I'll stop by the VZW store before work on that day ;)

Here's hoping it's on or before November 17th...

Not that this'll reveal anything new for us, since we've already gotten a handson with the HSPA version. Still, though, keep your eyes out for any gizmodo-esque leaks.
 
Well I will say one thing, if it does in fact release in UK/Europe before the US, then the cancellation of the event in San Diego had NOTHING to do with Steve Jobs, of that we can be pretty sure.
 
For those interested in the Gnex camera, here is a link to Tim Bray's G+ page. He works for Google and took the Gnex on a trip and took a bunch of pics to test the camera out. His objective was to see how it stacks up as a point and shoot. He does give a disclaimer saying that Google did not want him to take a pre-release model with him because it does not have a calibrated sensor. He says the following about the Gnex:

So, the Galaxy Nexus is really very decent for street shooting. The instant-shoot capability is at least two-thirds of that, but (given decent light) its color fidelity and blowout resistance are at least competent.

Now that worries me, as I'll be on a boat in the middle of the ocean on launch day. I'm hoping there's a preorder, and I'm hoping I can get them to delay shipping it, or something.
 
Can someone enlighten me on what an "OG Droid" is? I guess I watch too much Sons of Anarchy, because it makes me think it's an "Original Gangster" Droid. :p
